Computer Scientist - Delta Point

Description

Delta Point is seeking a Computer Scientist to support mission-critical Department of Defense programs at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD.

This role focuses on end-to-end analytical pipeline development, leveraging data to support senior military and government leadership decision-making. The ideal candidate will be capable of advancing data analytics beyond descriptive reporting into diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive (course of action) insights.

The position requires expertise in Army Vantage, Microsoft Power Platform, AI integration, and military logistics data, enabling scalable and intelligent analytics solutions across enterprise systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end data pipelines supporting the full analytics lifecycle:
  • Descriptive (dashboards & reporting)
  • Diagnostic (root cause analysis)
  • Predictive (trend modeling)
  • Prescriptive (recommended courses of action)
• Extract, clean, and integrate data from enterprise systems (e.g., GCSS-A, LMP) using Python and SQL
• Develop and scale Army Vantage and Power BI dashboards for leadership use
• Perform advanced data analysis and provide actionable insights and executive-level reporting
• Support ad hoc data requests and analytical requirements from stakeholders
• Build and maintain automation scripts, ETL pipelines, and workflow solutions
• Integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) to:
  • Enhance analytics processes
  • Enable non-technical users to navigate and troubleshoot Army Vantage
  • Connect and streamline workflows across Microsoft Power Platform tools
• Develop and automate business processes using:
  • Power BI
  • Power Automate
  • Power Apps
  • SharePoint
• Apply domain knowledge of military logistics and supply chain data, including:
  • LINs, NSNs, NIINs
  • Readiness and on-hand metrics
• Ensure compliance with DoD data governance, cybersecurity, and security standards
• Provide training, documentation, and user support for analytics tools and solutions

Requirements

• Active Secret Security Clearance
• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field
• 3+ years of experience in data analytics, data science, or related roles in DoD or federal environments
• Strong proficiency in:
  • Python
  • SQL
• Experience developing dashboards using:
  • Army Vantage
  • Microsoft Power BI
• Experience working with structured and unstructured data sources
• Understanding of end-to-end analytical pipeline development
• Knowledge of data governance, compliance, and cybersecurity best practices
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Desired / Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Artificial Intelligence (AI) integration in analytics or business processes
• Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, SharePoint)
• Experience supporting Army Vantage environments
• Experience building data automation, ETL processes, or workflow optimization solutions
• Familiarity with military logistics or supply chain systems (e.g., GCSS-A, LMP)
• Experience supporting Army or DoD logistics missions

Candidates must also have experience with several of the following:

• Charting frameworks (eCharts, D3, PowerBI)
• RBAC, session storage, and state management
• Familiarity with DoD branding and UX guidelines

Back-End & Data

• Python, FastAPI
• SQL / SQLite
• Modular architecture and event/queue systems
• Data pipelines and services integration
• AI/ML API integration
• Experience with Vantage/Foundry platforms (preferred)
