Position Overview

Responsible for the end-to-end procurement of Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) materials and services essential to maintain plant uptime, preventive maintenance, and facility support activities. This includes sourcing and acquiring items such as spare parts, tools, consumables, safety equipment (PPE), and facility-related services. The role ensures compliance with procurement policies, internal budget controls, and regulatory requirements under the IMMEX program. It also supports accurate supplier registration, documentation traceability, and alignment with SAT fiscal requirements to ensure compliant and uninterrupted operations within a maquiladora environment

What you'll do

  • Execute and release purchase orders and service orders, primarily for national procurement.
  • Evaluate purchase requisitions and supplier proposals for cost-effectiveness, lead time, quality, and compliance.
  • Source and select MRO products and vendors based on operational requirements and approved specifications.
  • Register and maintain approved supplier data in the purchasing system, ensuring alignment with SAT/IMMEX documentation needs.
  • Keep accurate records of purchased items, usage, and delivery confirmations to support traceability and audit readiness.
  • Maintain regular communication with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery, resolve issues, and maintain service levels.
  • Collaborate with departments such as Maintenance, EHS, Engineering, and Finance to coordinate purchasing needs and priorities.
  • Manage and continuously update the master directory of approved suppliers for all MRO categories.
  • Analyze material demand and usage trends to anticipate plant needs and prevent stockouts or downtime.
  • Lead or support the negotiation and management of commercial agreements and service contracts with MRO suppliers.
  • Analyze cost structures by product family and validate alignment with quarterly and annual budget objectives.
  • Develop and execute cost reduction plans through volume leverage, alternate sourcing, and product substitutions.
  • Maintain the internal commercial budget system with updated requisitions, purchase orders, and workflow status.
  • Ensure goods and services are delivered according to contractual terms and operational timelines.
  • Support compliance with customs, IMMEX, and tax authority (SAT) requirements for indirect materials procurement.

Who you are

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Foreign Trade, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role with a focus on MRO within a manufacturing or maquiladora environment.
  • Bilingual: Fluent in Spanish and English (written and spoken)
