Component and OEM Support Engineer (Data Focused)

Position Summary
Thales is looking for a data focused Component and OEM Support Engineer to split their time between responsibility for timely monthly reporting of Thales Metrics and Obsolescence product analysis reporting. You will assist your team with Data Analysis related to company monthly metric support: This will require the manipulation of existing Excel reports and creation of new reports used by Engineers and Management monthly. Success will rely on supporting Macro creation and use as well as data analysis with an emphasis on telling the correct story for product removals. Attention to detail and accuracy are of prime importance in all presentations created. The position may require guiding/monitoring of other on-site/remote team members supporting this activity, as well as presenting to management as requested. Training regarding the current data collection and manipulation within excel programs (and others) will be provided.
In this position, you will also research and resolution for obsolete components. The task relies heavily on a solid electrical component understanding, good organization skills, and solid reasoning skills. The position supports presenting tactical solution summaries to various internal and external customers with team member assistance when required and will work in coordination with the Product Engineer, and other disciplines as well. They will attend meetings to remain current on all component and product topics.
The Thales IFEC (In-Flight Entertainment and Connectivity) product and service offering is an end-to-end solution that supports our customers before, during and after the flight.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- OEM Data Analysis will require they maintain specific product monitoring and repair data analysis for OEM support and maintain marcros to fully support repair analysis and reporting processes when required. They will own the data and maintain all aspects of analysis of the data. Ability to effectively track and follow-up on open issues and action items.
- OEM Support Engineering will gather information to be incorporated into and support the following responsibilities: Maintain adequate metrics (SAP/Access/ISEDIS paretos, etc.) and help prepare product quality presentations to monitor the performance of products; Work with international teams to maintain SAP data integrity of failure data to assure accurate reporting.
- As OEM Support Engineer they will be responsible to load SAP RMA and Failure Analysis Data to prepare the Master Data; Files which are the basis of all other reports. Load data every 1st of the month, prepare and distribute the monthly data
analysis reports to stake holders one week prior to the presentations; Prepare weekly reports that are due every Monday include Weekly DLA, Nightly Dashboard and Weekly Inventory. - Create management level reports and accurately interpret product detail which are relied upon at all levels of Thales Management. Reports includes: R1 Overall Corporate Report, Airbus DPPM & Overall Production defects Pareto, and
approx. 30 other monthly reports; Produce monthly Quality related reports required by internal Thales. Reports include: Production FAL Failure Analysis
(PFFA) reports, 3rd Party Production/RMA among others; Generate monthly Airbus & Boeing Monthly Removals Reports which are regularly presented to customers. - Component Engineering will gather information to be incorporated into and support the following responsibilities: Bill of Materials (BOM) clean up and upload to Silicon Experts (SE) for obsolescence analysis; BOM risk analysis, alternate component research and risk reporting; Understand the analysis of Customer Obsolescence reports and communicated findings.
- Create Weekly Dashboard Extracts and understand analysis of stock shortages; CRF Processing (Passive & Active Components); Analyze Part Change Notices and offer suitable alternates for consideration by Engineering; Reach/RoHS reporting as needed; Some TEAMS meetings internationally may require attendance out of normal business hours (1-2/week).
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 1-4+ years of experience in an Electrical related field with demonstrated understanding of Component characteristics and choosing alternate parts of all types.
- Electrical component experience with limited Excel capabilities and the capability and interest to learn more advanced skills.
- Ability to manage ad hoc requests from management (experience prioritizing and successful time management in a thriving fast paced environment).
- Must love data and problem solving. This is not a hardware design position but hardware experience would be helpful.
- Enjoy working as a team member but also is a self-starter with integrity who works well independently with guidance if needed.
- Able to follow direction, organized, detail oriented, and capable of striving for accuracy in reporting; Excellent communication skills while working with global cross-functional teams.

Special Position Requirements
- Schedule: Core Business Hours, Monday-Friday. May be eligible for 9/80 or hybrid work. May be required to work outside core business hours/weekends in order to meet deadlines.
- Physical Environment: Typical office environment.
- Physical Demands: Lifting of boxes up to 25 lbs. periodically. Computer use is required for this position 99% of the time.
- Travel: Up to 10%.

What We Offer
The anticipated TTC range for this role is $78,158.25 - $130,263.75 USD Annual. The Company reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s status protected by local, state, or federal law.
