What you will be doing:

The Compliance Specialist manages the primary responsibility to ensure that the Helen of Troy products meet processes, and operations comply with relevant laws, regulations, compliance and policies. The Compliance Specialist will conduct thorough testing, assessments, and audits to identify compliance gaps and recommend corrective actions to enhance regulatory adherence and reduce risk

The Compliance Specialist works with the Production and Quality Department to ensure all the standards are met and test in time for production.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct compliance testing and audit Helen of Troy’s products to cross various business functions to ensure the products placed on the market are compliant with the local market laws and regulation as well as the Helen of Troy’s standard.

  • Develop and execute detailed testing plans, ensuring thorough evaluation of processes, controls

  • Work closely with legal, regulatory, and compliance teams to understand the applicable regulatory environment and keep up to date on any changes.

  • Document testing results, prepare comprehensive reports, and communicate findings to SharePoint / Smartsheet and management team

  • Monitor corrective actions to ensure compliance issues are properly addressed in a timely manner.

  • Validate products, material and materials data submitted by Vendors

  • Keep up to date with emerging regulatory trends and requirements.

AUTHORITY & WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

The Compliance testing Specialist is authorized to take reasonable action necessary to carry out responsibilities consistent with general guidance from the Sr. Director – Production and Quality. The Compliance testing Specialist   is directly responsible for reporting to the Sr. Director – Production and Quality.

  • Supervision Exercised: no

  • Primary Contacts: Factories, suppliers, Designer, lab testing, Compliance team

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Higher Diploma or above, preferably majoring in Fashion & Textile, Chemistry, Environmental

  • A trustworthy, reliable communicator with excellent English Language skills and a reliable confidentiality record.

  • 2+ years of experience in compliance testing, auditing, or a related role.

  • Strong understanding of industry regulations and compliance standards (e.g., AATCC, ISO, ASTM, RSL, GRS..etc

  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and familiarity with compliance management tools is a plus.

  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • Experience with risk management or internal controls.

  • Understanding the product and textile material would be an advantage

  • Quick learner and team player with good communication skills

Travel: Ability to travel as needed

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Compensation: Salary dependent on experience and qualifications
Paid Time Off (PTO):  15 days
Benefits: Comprehensive Benefits Package.  Lunch provided 5 days a week.

REQUIRED MEETINGS AND TIME/TRAVEL

Participation in all department and general company meetings/functions, and others relating to special assignments, as required. May be required to work outside of normal work hours or attend offsite training/business functions.
