In short, the Compliance Specialist is responsible for the performance of periodic risk assessments of regulatory compliance and monitoring compliance with applicable laws and regulations through analysis and review of customer facing documents and communication, transactional data, new and existing programs/processes, policies and procedures, marketing materials, and training materials related to regulatory compliance.

In long, the Compliance Specialist is responsible for:

  • Identifying, researching, and assessing areas of risk within the regulatory compliance environment and making recommendations for improvements to existing documentation, communication, policies, procedures, or practices as necessary.

  • Monitoring developments in the regulatory environment, analyzing the impact of developments on new and existing customer documents and communications, programs, practices, and communicate assessment of the impact to management and affected employees as necessary.

  • Consistent analysis of existing communication procedures to ensure the identification and mitigation of any gaps, breaks, or misses in production.

  • Assisting in the development and administration of training material and standard operating procedures related to customer communications.

  • Supporting internal business groups to ensure customer communications and related processes are in compliance with applicable legal requirements and company policies.

  • Ensuring customer communications are updated in accordance with applicable legal requirements and company goals.

  • Organizing a centralized hub of identified communication content and facilitation of content updates, as applicable.

  • Identification of opportunities to improve, enhance, or innovate the customer experience and business success through streamlined communication content.

  • Engaging in DriveTime’s culture and development opportunities, including professional development and the development of professional relationships with audit/compliance personnel, management, and DriveTime employees.

The Specifics.

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree, or a satisfactory amount of relative work experience.

  • 1+ years of experience in a regulatory compliance, financial analysis, quality assurance or audit environment.

  • Experience in the Financial Services or other heavily regulated industry is preferred.

  • Experience performing analysis of transactional data and identifying trends within the data.

  • CIA, CRCM, CFE, or other relevant professional certifications are preferred but not required.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word & Excel. Experience building and executing queries in SQL is a plus.
