Compliance Specialist
At Flaherty & Collins Properties, we're committed to providing high-quality affordable housing while maintaining the highest standards of compliance. Our Compliance team plays a critical role in ensuring our communities meet federal, state, and program requirements so residents receive the support they deserve and our properties remain in good standing.
We're looking for a Compliance Specialist who is detail-oriented, collaborative, and passionate about affordable housing. If you enjoy working with regulations, supporting onsite teams, and ensuring every detail is handled accurately, we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Do:

Conduct monthly tenant file reviews at affordable housing communities to ensure compliance with LIHTC and other affordable housing program requirements.

Partner with onsite teams to identify and resolve compliance issues, ensuring timely and accurate corrections.

Prepare for and participate in third-party file audits and unit or property inspections.

Enter and maintain required event tracking information in state agency reporting systems, including move-ins, move-outs, annual recertifications, transfers, rent changes, and household updates.

Prepare documentation and reports required by state and federal housing agencies.

Provide guidance, training, and ongoing support to onsite associates and Regional Property Managers on affordable housing compliance requirements.

Monitor regulatory changes and help ensure company policies remain aligned with program requirements.

Attend affordable housing compliance seminars, workshops, and industry conferences to stay current on evolving regulations and best practices.

Maintain accurate compliance records and documentation while ensuring deadlines are consistently met.

Partner with the Director of Compliance to support the overall success of the affordable housing portfolio.
What Makes You a Great Fit:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

3–5 years of experience in Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) compliance.

Strong understanding of affordable housing regulations and compliance requirements.

Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Strong communication skills with the ability to educate and support onsite teams.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and affordable housing compliance software or state reporting systems.
