As a Compliance Specialist, you’ll join the Governance & Accountability team and support stakeholders across the Member Domain. You will review a broad range of communication materials to identify compliance risks, provide practical guidance, and enable informed, risk‑based decision making. Working closely with compliance colleagues and business stakeholders, you’ll help deliver consistent, high-quality and customer‑centric compliance outcomes.


Your New Role
Reporting to the Manager, Compliance Review, you will play a key role supporting business areas across service (including digital channels), marketing and communications, product design and distribution, guidance & advice, and member operations.

Key duties include but are not limited to;

  • Perform compliance reviews and assessments to identify potential compliance risks and provide solution‑based feedback to stakeholders.
  • Review materials to ensure compliance with superannuation, financial services, consumer protection, privacy and other legislative and regulatory requirements.
  • Assess both mandatory documentation (e.g. PDSs, IBRs, TMDs, SENs) and discretionary content such as marketing, social media, brochures, and presentations.
  • Adhere to internal business rules and complete relevant compliance checklists.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure documentation aligns with record‑keeping procedures.
  • Support incident breach assessments and other compliance‑related activities as required.
  • Provide guidance, communication and training to colleagues on Member Domain compliance obligations.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of systems and processes aligned with evolving legislation and regulatory guidance.

What You’ll Need

  • 5+ years’ experience in a compliance or similar role.
  • 3+ years’ experience in superannuation with strong knowledge of applicable laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience reviewing and assessing materials for regulatory compliance.
  • Experience analysing and implementing changes in legislation and regulatory guidance.
  • Strong knowledge of risk and compliance frameworks.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem‑solving capability.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and operate effectively in high‑pressure environments.
  • High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information professionally.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship‑building capability across all levels.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of financial services, privacy and consumer protection laws.
  • Experience developing frameworks, policies, or standards.
  • RG146 competency (or willing to obtain).
