The Compliance Specialist, Inquiries role supports the Inquiries team function by serving as a first point of contact for the team on legal and compliance-related requests, managing inquiry workflows, coordinating compliance documentation and assisting with project execution. They serve as a connector between internal teams and external partners, such as customers and domestic suppliers. Key duties include maintaining accurate and complete compliance reference materials, coordinating communication and documentation from internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring timely and accurate responses to compliance inquiries or escalation to Inquiries analysts.
What Will You Be Doing?
- Manage team intake email inbox, dashboard and AI-generated outputs to screen and triage incoming compliance inquiries for appropriate routing and urgency; ensuring timely resolution or escalation as needed.
- Coordinate, track, and prepare responses and documentation from internal and external partners for analyst review, ensuring completeness and timely submission.
- Conduct internal audits related to redirected inquiries and basic requests, identifying and flagging issues for timely resolution.
- Draft and maintain team process documentation, training manuals, and templates for areas of responsibility to ensure accuracy and alignment with current procedures and process changes.
- Prepare and maintain internal team and company compliance resources per established schedules.
- Aid in training and advising team members on Inquiries team processes and procedures, serving as an additional point of contact for guidance and support.
- Support special projects and cross-functional initiatives as assigned.
- Perform backup support for Inquiries analysts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Comply with all policies and standards.
What Are We Looking For?
- High School Diploma Preferred
- 4-6 years of related experience working with verbal and written communications of a compliance nature, or equivalent education
- Experience with U.S. regulations for apparel and accessories preferred
- Proficient in analyzing detailed documentation for accuracy and completeness, and capable of recognizing and escalating issues when appropriate
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing processes, deadlines, and team needs
- Ability to support and train team members on compliance procedures while demonstrating a cooperative and adaptable work style
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience with Salesforce, Adobe Acrobat and Workfront preferred
- Comfortable leveraging AI tools for administrative efficiency
What's Our Offer?
Salary Range: You`ll earn between $25.00 - $34.86 on an hourly basis, depending on experience.
Bonus: You`ll be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus up to 5% of base salary.
Paid Time Off: You`ll accrue paid time off on a weekly basis based on hours worked up to 112 hours per year to start. Employees also receive 8 paid holidays and 1 paid family day off.

What Should You Expect?
Hybrid: SanMar's Eastpointe office is located in Issaquah, WA in the Seattle metropolitan area. Employees are required to work in our offices Tuesday through Thursday each week and additional days may be added based on business needs. Our standard working hours are 8:00-5:00 PST. Periodic travel may be required. The employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods while working on a computer and participating in virtual and in-person meetings. Frequent use of hands for keyboarding and standard office equipment is required. Occasional standing, walking, and reaching may be needed to attend meetings or collaborate in an office setting. The role requires the ability to perform close visual work on a computer for extended periods. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 10–15 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be available to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.
