PAY RANGE
The Target Pay Range for this position is $41.25-$50.38 hourly. The full Pay Range is $32.02-$59.76 hourly. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Employees have access to disability and AD&D insurance. We also offer health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts, as well as health savings accounts, to eligible employees. Newly hired employees accrue 6.16 hours of paid time off (PTO) on a per pay period basis based on hours worked (up to a maximum of 160 PTO hours per year) and receive ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. IMPACT YOU’LL MAKE:
As a Compliance Specialist II, you’ll play a key role in helping BECU maintain its commitment to regulatory excellence. Your work will support both the Compliance Department and business units by ensuring our products, services, and operations align with applicable laws and regulations. You’ll be a trusted resource for interpreting complex compliance requirements and guiding teams through monitoring and resolution processes. WHAT YOU’LL DO:
· Support Compliance Monitoring: Deliver timely and accurate monitoring results to business units and Compliance Officers to inform risk assessments and reporting.
· Apply Regulatory Knowledge: Use your understanding of federal and state laws, regulations, and guidance to support compliance across the Credit Union.
· Conduct Transactional Reviews: Perform reviews of consumer compliance regulations and ensure procedures are followed consistently.
· Resolve Escalated Issues: Assist with complex compliance concerns and communicate solutions clearly to all stakeholders.
· Enhance Processes: Recommend improvements to procedures, services, and workflows to increase responsiveness and efficiency.
· Research Regulatory Requirements: Analyze and interpret compliance obligations related to lending, deposits, payments, and operations.
· Monitor Regulatory Changes: Stay informed on proposed regulatory activities and assess their potential impact on business operations.
· Facilitate Communication: Maintain strong communication with employees across the Credit Union to support coordination and goal alignment.
· Support Training Needs: Collaborate with Compliance Administrators and supervisors to identify and address compliance training gaps.
· Participate in Projects: Actively contribute to project teams and coordinate efforts with other departments and business units.
· Promote Compliance Awareness: Engage in ongoing dialogue with business units to foster understanding of regulatory requirements.
· Maintain Systems: Assist with the upkeep of BECU’s compliance management system and provide support as needed.
· Drive Continuous Improvement: Contribute to quality improvement efforts that enhance service to internal and external customers.
· Perform Additional Duties: Take on other responsibilities as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in business, or equivalent work or education-related experience.
· Typically requires minimum three years of experience within a Credit Union or financial institution dealing with compliance issues related to products and services.
Desired Qualifications:
· Experience reviewing business processes and regulation monitoring.
· Solid problem resolution, negotiation, and workflow management skills.
· NCCO (National Association of National Credit Union Certified Compliance Officer) designation.
· Proficient PC skills (including Microsoft Office and SharePoint), with the ability to learn new software.
· Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
· Flexibility and adaptability to organizational changes.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Ability to provide concise, professional documentation and recommendations.
· Strong administrative and organizational skills.
· Customer-focused mindset and relationship-building abilities.
