Function:
Responsible for ensuring quality control of the operation, audit, and compliance risk of the commercial and business banking lending division functions with emphasis on HMDA. Requires an advanced knowledge of lending, applicable banking laws, federal and state regulations, bank policies and lending platforms. Supports the efforts of the Commercial Loan Documentation department.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for the efficiency and effectiveness of the operations from a quality control aspect by:
Performing post-close reviews on loan applications/modifications through a data field validation process to ensure data integrity is maintained for commercial loan documents.
Support the maintenance of an accurate and complete HMDA Loan Applications Register by:
Review loans for HMDA accuracy.
Validate the action code for all cancelled and denied loan applications
Validate and input correct data in nCino LOS.
Peer Review and Mentorship
Determine the cause of HMDA errors, track by employee and communicate to the Commercial Loan Post Close Compliance Supervisor.
Working with Lending personnel, on reprocessing loan applications/modifications for various reasons and tracking, requesting & processing relevant information required by underwriting standards in accordance with the Bank’s retention policy.
Ensures quality control of the loan applications/modifications process for Compliance related items by conducting pre-audit reviews for Underwriting and Doc Prep by:
On-going HMDA, Reg B (joint intent to apply) CIP, CDD monitoring for procedure effectiveness and training recommendations.
CRA Reporting
Validation of compliance documentation for loan applications that have been withdrawn & declined, and on-going monitoring of loan applications not to exceed set timeframes for withdraws to adhere with compliance guidelines.
Ensures appraisal disclosure letters (Reg B) are produced on loan applications when applicable.
Working with the management to ensure all applicable regulatory updates are being implemented to the Commercial Loan Documentation operations.
Works closely with the Commercial Loan Funding and Compliance Quality Control Supervisor, and Lending Management by:
Ensuring consistent quality control of all loan applications/modifications.
Reporting all quality control errors, findings and recommending ideas and actions to improve operations.
Preparing reports and follow-up information on all the quality control components of the Lending operations.
Obtains and sustains proficiency in the loan origination software, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint & Outlook), Internet searches, Core Operating System (FIS), imaging systems, along with the upgrades to these programs or replacement software and any other conduit available to process all applications as well as prepare required documentation.
Acquires and maintains a thorough knowledge of all applicable laws, regulations, and the Bank’s Corporate & Lending Policies/Underwriting Manuals to ensure compliance.
Maintains updated knowledge base of loan types necessary to perform essential duties. Advances Knowledge through further education and/or obtaining certifications and attends training on regulatory, platforms and audit issues or concerns.
Assists in the development and maintenance (including updates) of Commercial Loan Documentation manuals to be used as both a training and reference manual.
Works closely with the Commercial Loan Funding and Compliance Quality Control Supervisor to ensure all applicable procedures and compliance matters are current and assist on as as-needed basis.
Maintains a positive and productive working relationship with all co-workers and third-party vendors. Demonstrates positive interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently as well as motivated to work as a team player to contribute to the success of the department and the Bank.

Education:
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent basic academic education.
Experience:
Requires two to five years of general business experience with one to two years specialized experience and advanced knowledge in HMDA, Reg B as it applies to commercial lending, and flood regulations required.
Physical Demands:
Operates a keypad device, electronic equipment, office equipment: 90% of the day. Requires the use of manual dexterity skills for typing and filing up to 60% of the business day. Salary Range:
$16.23 - $33.32Skills Required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two to five years of general business experience
