Responsible for reviews and guidance of Marketing Promotions as they pertain to Federal, State, MICS and Company Internal Controls and Regulations to ensure accuracy, integrity and audit scrutiny.  The Compliance Officer will receive direction and work closely with the ACGC Compliance Manager, for the Agua Caliente Gaming Commission.     

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned)


  • Primary responsibility is the review and approval of Marketing Promotions.
  • Interaction with all levels of the Marketing Department pertaining to Marketing Promotions.
  • Ability to write concise and comprehensive reports.
  • Perform Compliance Reviews as directed by the Compliance Manager
  • Assist in the maintenance of Compliance Department information as directed by the Compliance Manager.
  • Become proficient in all functions of the Compliance Department.
  • Review physical and logical security measures of Internal Controls for completeness and compliance with Federal, State, and Company Policy.
  • Assist ACGC staff with Compliance questions and reviews.
  • Develop an understanding of MICS, Tribal Compact, Internal Controls and Regulations for Indian Gaming.
  • Performs other job related functions as assigned.

Education and/or Experience


High School diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. 2 years of work experience in a Casino Regulatory Environment.

Must possess the following:

  • Good English Skills, both spoken and written
  • Understanding of Internal Controls, Regulations, Federal and State laws, governing Indian Gaming.
  • Must work well as a team member and interact professionally with multiple diverse departments.
  • Must be a detail oriented person

 

Working Conditions/Physical Demands

 

To perform this job successfully the individual must be able to stand, move and work throughout the office area and properties, including walking up to 1 ½ mile, climbing stairs/step ladders and sitting at a desk work station for the duration of the shift.  Also may be subjected to a smoke filled environment. 

Must possess a valid Driver’s License and have the ability to travel to the Tribe’s casinos for processing Compliance assignments.

Typically the individual will be housed in an office environment.  The noise level in the   work environment is usually moderate but will escalate when located in the casino environment.  Must be able to grasp, bend, lift and/or carry or otherwise move goods weighing a maximum of 30 lbs. on an intermittent basis, and sufficient dexterity of hand in order to use office equipment including, but not limited to:  a computer keyboard, calculator, general office equipment and multi-lined telephone.

Skills Required

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two years of work experience in a casino regulatory environment
  • Good spoken and written English skills
  • Understanding of internal controls, regulations, and federal and state laws governing Indian gaming
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member and interact professionally with diverse departments
  • Detail-oriented work style
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to travel to the Tribe's casinos for compliance assignments
