The hiring range for this opportunity is $23.10 to $31.70 hourly along with incentive opportunities, creating a competitive total compensation package based on our pay scale, and may be modified by location and is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for assisting with an ongoing, comprehensive and effective structure of internal controls to mitigate compliance risk in assigned areas of responsibility, and to assure adherence with applicable laws, rules and regulations.  Performs monitoring and quality control activities, including transactional testing.  

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in ensuring that the Bank maintains a sound compliance risk management system with active oversight of compliance-related operational risk, adequate policies, procedures, and a strong management information system for measuring, monitoring and risk reporting.

• Make appropriate efforts to remain informed about regulatory risks in assigned area of expertise (i.e., Lending, Deposits, Fair Lending/CRA, Vendor Management, DR/BCP, etc.)

• Assists in the development of compliance risk management reporting methods, systems and an adequate array of reports that provide levels of detail about risk exposures that are relevant to the duties and responsibilities of the compliance risk management function.  

• Assist in monitoring for identifying, reporting and implementing new regulations or changes to existing regulations within specific areas of responsibility.  

• Assists in report preparation for approval of the Compliance Officer.   

• May attend conferences and other quality control and compliance-related education activities.

• Performs monitoring activities and assesses risk. 

• May participate in community group activities related to compliance.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintains a current understanding of Bank policies and procedures in compliance with all federal and state laws, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Action (SARs, CIP, OFAC), Information Security (GLBA), Identity Theft Red Flags, Financial Elder Abuse Reporting, and any other applicable regulations that may be specific to your job duties.

• Communicate and advocate a strong awareness of internal controls and the criticality of high ethical standards.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND OTHER SKILLS REQUIRED

• High school diploma or equivalent, required.  Bachelor's degree, preferred.

• 2 years of experience in a financial services environment and familiarity with financial products and services. Experience in compliance, quality control, risk management or a related field in a financial services environment, preferred.  

• Excellent problem solving and verbal communication skills.  Strong written communication skills.  

• Familiarity of branch operations, lending operations, CRA/HMDA, or areas of operational risk as appropriate for job responsibilities.
