JOB SUMMARY:  Coordinates day-to-day Compliance Specialist tasks to facilitate timely completion of file reviews, reports, and audit responses pertaining to affordable housing program regulatory compliance. Reports to the Compliance Director.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  Below is a brief summary of the essential duties and responsibilities of this position.  Additional duties or job functions may be assigned by supervisory personnel.

  • Support the Compliance team to ensure that internal policies and procedures are followed and external program requirements met.
  • Ensure timely, organized, and complete responses to agency audits.
  • Provide guidance to Compliance Specialists on complex eligibility and program compliance issues.
  • Monitor annual certification status across the affordable portfolio to identify where additional support and/or training is needed.
  • Meet regularly with the Compliance Director.
  • Attend department meetings and industry trainings as assigned.
  • Support compliance with fair housing standards.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Five years combination of HUD and LIHTC experience.  RD and additional affordable programs knowledge and active industry certifications a plus.

OFFICE EXPERIENCE:  Proficient in MS Office, Office 365, Adobe Acrobat, Excel, and Outlook.  Must be well organized, have excellent time management and written communication skills, the ability to multi-task, and to prioritize work.  Strong need for attention to detail and problem-solving skills.  Must be able to effectively organize records / files.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:  Ability to effectively communicate (written and oral) with all levels of employees and outside agencies and to manage large volumes of correspondence; ability to proofread documents; ability to interpret procedural manuals.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:  Ability to calculate figures and annualize income and assets from source documents.  Ability to use basic mathematical and advanced analytical skills.

Skills Required

  • High school diploma or GED
