About the role
Reporting to the Compliance Manager, the Internal Auditor is responsible for independently assessing Workman’s adherence to regulatory requirements, internal policies, and risk management frameworks.
The role has an immediate and significant focus on the delivery of ISO 27001:2022 internal audits and the ongoing assurance of the organisation’s Information Security Management System (ISMS) across 11 UK offices.
This also includes the planning, execution, and reporting of Cyber Essentials Plus audits, IT backup and restoration audits, and physical security audits at each location.
What matters most in this role
This plays a key role in supporting and strengthening Workman’s compliance culture through structured audit planning, effective execution, clear reporting, and continuous improvement of internal controls and processes.
A strong understanding of regulatory requirements and internal policies is inherent to identifying control and knowledge gaps. Attention to detail is essential.
Your ability to collaborate across different teams and build relationships with senior stakeholders is crucial. It is important to challenge results and practices objectively and strategically.
Day to day, you’ll
- Independently manage the ISO 27002: 2022 internal audit across all offices and the firm.
- Support the ISO 9001: 2015 audits which take place twice a year.
- Lead compliance spot-checks on all offices and departments to ensure continuity of practices.
- Ensure client due diligence questionnaires are received, processed and analysed accordingly.
- Prepare audit reports and document finding clearly, objectively and inline with ISO standards.
- Provide guidance to stakeholders on internal audit trends, compliance regulations and best practices.
- Providing ad hoc training or responding to compliance queries from internal stakeholders
How we see the role developing
- Support the Property Management Accounting team with their ISO 9001: 2015 annual audits.
- Understand and manage all other ISO internal audits across multiple functions of the business including; ESG - ISO 14001: 2015, H&S ISO 45001:2018
- Conduct ISO 22301:2019 internal audits across the firm.
- Help lead all ISO Audits across practices in our office in Paris.
What we expect from you
- Experience in internal audit, compliance, risk or governance roles.
- Knowledge of ISO accreditation frameworks.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Experience in the property industry is beneficial but not essential.
- High levels of integrity, discretion and professional judgment.
