The Role

Job Description:

JOB OVERVIEW 

The Compliance Engineer is responsible for the listing process for Ohmium new products with certification agencies domestically and internationally. 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

Assess applicable standards and coordinate compliance during the product development cycle from concept, design and testing through to product listing and certification. 

Coordinate with test engineering team to ensure a successful testing process which validates the design and applicable standard conformance. 

Facilitate the interaction and requests made to certification agencies (e.g., UL) for certification of the company's products domestically and internationally. 

Manage the company's responsibility for continued compliance of existing products.  

Manage the company's compliance program by tracking schedules, costs, and required resources. 

Achieve product compliance for new or current products by collaborating with research and development and engineering teams to ensure designs meet regulatory requirements. 

Develop high quality compliance presentation materials for use with internal and external stakeholders, Certification agencies and AHJs.   

 

LOCATION, TRAVEL AND WORK ENVIRONMENT 

  • Remote work location which provides a work environment that (a) allows for confidential or sensitive discussions; (b) is quiet and distraction-free; (c) has consistent high-quality internet and phone access (d) ensures availability during business hours in California, nights and weekends as maybe required and (e) safe from hazards. 

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally at least ten percent (10%) of the time.  

  • Compliance with the Ohmium Vaccination Policy.  

 

FORMAL EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS OR EQUIVALENT 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics or Chemistry, preferred. 

  • A combination of education, certification, or work experience in some science/engineering related field, including experience in compliance engineering with certification agencies (e.g., UL)

  • Planning and Organizing - Ability to plan daily and weekly activities to achieve the desired results/outcomes; monitors progress and adjusts work as required; assigns clear goals and responsibilities to ensure desired outcomes; breaks down work in manageable portions; considers changing priorities and the needs of others. 

  • Dependability and Reliability – Achieves results with little oversight.  

 

 

WORK EXPERIENCE 

  • Five (5) to seven (7) years of progressive experience working in engineering, project management and product compliance required, or 

  • Five (5) to seven (7) years of equivalent military experience required 

  • Some experience working in the renewable energy sector preferred.  

  • Previous experience working remotely a plus
