What You’ll Do
As a Compliance Engineer, you’ll be part of our HTAS Engineering team located in Taichung, Taiwan. Stanley Black & Decker is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented **Compliance Engineer** to support regulatory compliance, product certification, and engineering evaluation activities for hand tool-related products. This role is responsible for ensuring products meet applicable international safety, regulatory, and certification requirements throughout the product development lifecycle.
The successful candidate will work cross-functionally with Research & Development, Quality, external certification agencies, suppliers, and customers to facilitate timely project execution and successful market access. This position requires strong technical judgment, effective communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
You’ll get to:
- Lead and support regulatory compliance testing, engineering evaluations, and certification activities for hand tool-related products in accordance with applicable international safety and regulatory standards.
- Conduct product reviews, design assessments, and engineering evaluations to verify compliance with relevant regulatory and standards requirements.
- Partner with R&D and cross-functional stakeholders to review and prepare certification-related documentation and technical submissions.
- Coordinate with external certification bodies, suppliers, and customers to support project execution and ensure deliverables are completed within established timelines.
- Monitor changes in international regulations, standards, and certification requirements, and provide proactive guidance to product design and development teams.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance compliance processes, testing efficiency, and overall product quality.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

- Bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant experience in product safety, regulatory compliance, certification testing, electrical testing, or a related engineering field.
- Working knowledge of product safety and regulatory certification processes; familiarity with North American and international standards is preferred.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in both Chinese and English, including the ability to prepare and review technical documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, as required.
