As a Compliance Engineer I, you will be under the close supervision of senior compliance engineers and/or engineering leadership. The Junior Compliance Engineer supports efforts to ensure products meet applicable regulatory, safety, and industry standards. This entry‑level role assists with compliance planning, documentation, product evaluations, and coordination with cross‑functional teams. The position involves applying established compliance principles, procedures, and checklists to mechanical and electromechanical food service products and systems. Incumbents receive detailed guidance on assigned tasks and are expected.


Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager/Dir/VP of Engineering, this position is based in Shreveport, LA*.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists in preparing, maintaining, and reviewing product compliance documentation and technical files.
  • Supports compliance activities related to applicable regulations, safety standards, certifications, and internal policies.
  • Collaborates with design, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure compliance considerations are incorporated into product designs and changes.
  • Participates in engineering change processes to assess regulatory and compliance impacts of design updates.
  •  Helps coordinate product testing, evaluations, and certifications with internal teams and third‑party laboratories.
  • Tracks and documents compliance requirements for current and new products.
  • Prepares and processes Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), and related compliance records.
  •  Utilizes ERP and document management systems to support compliance tracking, Bills of Materials (BoMs), and product records.
  • Assists in identifying potential compliance risks and supports corrective action efforts.
  • Communicates compliance status, test results, and risks clearly to internal stakeholders.
  • Provides compliance‑related product information to Sales, Marketing, Technical Services, and Manufacturing as needed.
  • Supports audits, regulatory inquiries, and internal compliance reviews.
  • Performs other related duties and tasks as assigned.
Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related technical field (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or similar)
  • 0–2 years of experience in engineering, quality, regulatory, or compliance‑related roles

OR

  • Equivalent industry experience demonstrating strong aptitude for compliance and technical documentation

 

Skills & Abilities:

  • Basic understanding of engineering principles and regulatory compliance concepts
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interpret standards, specifications, and technical documentation
  • Familiarity with engineering drawings, BoMs, and change control processes
  • Proficiency with standard office software (Microsoft Office) and ERP systems
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team‑based, cross‑functional environment
  • Willingness and ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Ability to learn and apply applicable safety, regulatory, and industry standards

Working Conditions:

  • Office‑based computer work with periodic time spent in manufacturing or lab environments
  • Occasional lifting up to 30 lbs.
  • Exposure to manufacturing noise, industrial equipment, and moving vehicles when in production areas
  • Must be able to travel domestically up to 15% of the time.
