As a global company with an organisation spanning multiple countries, and customers in the financial sector, compliance is essential to all the work we do in SimCorp. SimCorp is currently undergoing a process to further mature our compliance set-up, which brings more complex tasks across topics such as AML, sanctions, data privacy and market abuse.

As our new Compliance Operations Specialist, you will be working in Manila as part of our global Group Compliance team. The team is responsible for providing 2nd Line of Defence Compliance advice on a broad range of topics. The Compliance team focuses on developing and maintaining a robust framework for compliance in general with a firm focus on regulatory compliance and assisting the organisation stay compliant with applicable laws and regulations. In particular this role will be working with our employees’ compliance with Market Abuse, Conflict of Interest and Anti-bribery requirements and SimCorp policies on these topics.

Compliance in a global organization

As our new Compliance Operations Speciali, you will work closely together with the existing Compliance team to develop, implement and oversee our compliance framework. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide guidance to employees at all levels to ensure the organization stay compliant.

This role also offers a great opportunity to contribute to your own role based on your experience and interests within compliance.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Assisting with risk assessments to identify compliance risks across various business functions, jurisdictions and legislations
  • Collaborate closely together with internal stakeholders and the rest of Group Compliance to shape our compliance framework to the business
  • Participate in activities to regularly monitor compliance activities across the organisation, and assess their effectiveness
  • Maintain accurate records of compliance activities
  • Monitor completion of employee compliance requirements throughout the organisation
  • Create planned and ad-hoc reporting and provide information on compliance topics and initiatives to various internal and external stakeholders
  • Contribute to the upkeep of repositories of laws and regulations and their applicability to SimCorp’s activities

What we value:

  • Have a degree in law or areas within auditing or risk
  • With a minimum of two to three years of experience in compliance within a global setting. Experience as in-house counsel is nice to have
  • Have experience with relevant compliance topics, such as market abuse, sanctions, conflict of interest, etc. – and are curious to learn about those topics, you might be less familiar with
  • Have good analytical skills with attention to details
  • Have advanced English communication skills, both verbally and in writing
  • Have a good understanding of complex compliance cases and are able to balance the need for sound business advice with the need for maintaining a high standard of advice
  • Solid interpersonal skills and an excellent sense of humor.
  • Amenable to work in EMEA time zone (3PM to 12AM PHT or 4PM to 1AM PHT)
