Position Summary:
Responsible for completing daily compliance tasks and audits. Will contact staff responsible for incomplete or missing items discovered in audits. Provide recommendations for process and procedure changes to supervisor to improve audit results. Complete compliance related projects in coordination with supervisor.
Duties/Responsibilities:Follow all credit union policies, procedures, and requirements in addition to all state and federal laws and regulations, including Regulation CC, the Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC and USA Patriot Act/Customer Identification Act (CIP).
Complete daily audits and review daily reports. Contact staff responsible for findings to effect corrections. Summarize findings on spreadsheets. Based on audit and report findings as well as staff feedback, recommend process and procedure changes to supervisor. Work with supervisor to implement approved changes.
Assist in the implementation of record retention policies and procedures in accordance with regulations and laws. Assist with document destruction process with supervisor, branch teams and other departments.
Uses transaction monitoring software to view and research alerts, SARs and CTRs. Writes narratives and prepares responses to alerts. Files reports according to regulatory requirements and within filing deadlines.
Assists with the review of documents submitted in support of special account applications or account updates. Evaluates documents for compliance with existing guidelines and verifies documents with available resources.
Respond to compliance related questions from staff. Research and decision red flags and adverse notifications discovered during loan or account opening. Notate the appropriate system and notify staff of decision.
Assist with the communication of policy and procedure changes to impacted staff, or the credit union as a whole. Respond to staff questions about new policies and procedures and their implementation.
Assist in the revision and/or design of forms, products, website, programs or promotions to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.
Participate in compliance meetings to provide summaries and insights into audit results and staff feedback.
Maintain strict confidentiality with all members and employee information

Essential Functions:
Extended sitting up to 70% of the time. Occasional lifting up to 35 pounds.
Bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, reaching above and below shoulder level is occasionally required. Continuous sound perception/discrimination and verbal speech ability.
Exposure to dust and poor ventilation. Strong problem-solving skills.
Strong skills using PC word and spreadsheet programs. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Intermediate mathematical skills (calculations/concepts involving decimals and percentages). Ability to analyze and collect data.
Knowledge of credit union regulations. Problem solving skills.
Occasional travel and irregular hours are required. Must be bondable.
QualificationsEducation, Training and Experience:Associate degree in a business-related field or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
At least five years experience in diverse areas of the financial institution industry or compliance certification is a plus.
