The Role

Job Description:

This position supports the implementation and maintenance of a coordinated and integrated Compliance Program at Intermountain Healthcare. This position demonstrates an understanding of the regulations that govern healthcare and works to ensure compliance with those regulations. This position investigates issues, provides education and information, assesses risks, and monitors outcomes. The compliance consultants are typically assigned to work in a specific area of focus with close coordination with colleagues and teams. Incumbent may be hired at a level I or II, depending on qualifications and experience.

Job Essentials:

  • Leads and supports the identification and investigation of compliance issues (locally or system-wide).
  • Leads and supports the implementation of the 8 elements of a compliance program.
  • Leads and assists with the implementation of corrective actions plans to reduce compliance risk.
  • Compliance Consultant I Minimum Qualifications:
  • Progressive professional experience working in compliance related roles related to analyzing and implementing regulations, assessing risk and implementing corrective action plans.
  • Experience and knowledge of health care regulations.
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communications.
  • Problem solving, organization, and stewardship of confidential information.
  • Experience working on projects with a team and filling various roles.
  • Ability to prioritize assignments.
  • Awareness of the 8 elements of an effective compliance program.

Posting Specifics

  • Entry Rate:  Depending on experience
  • Benefits Eligible: Yes
  • Shift Details: Monday – Friday 8:00 to 5:00
  • Department:  Select Health Compliance
  • Other: Hybrid schedule (1 day in office, 4 at home). Can vary at times based on need.

Compliance Consultant I Minimum Qualifications:

  • Progressive professional experience working in compliance related roles related to analyzing and implementing regulations, assessing risk and implementing corrective action plans.
  • Experience and knowledge of health care regulations.
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communications.
  • Problem solving, organization, and stewardship of confidential information.
  • Experience working on projects with a team and filling various roles.
  • Ability to prioritize assignments.
  • Awareness of the 8 elements of an effective compliance program.

Compliance Consultant II Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience and knowledge of health care regulations and demonstrates understanding of applicability and risk assessment.
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communications.
  • Effective problem solving and stewardship of confidential information.
  • Experience working on projects with a team and filling various roles.
  • Ability to prioritize a broad scope of assignments.
  • Awareness and understanding of the 8 elements of an effective compliance program.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the health insurance industry, specifically experience in state product filings and plan certification.

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

Physical Requirements:

Interact with others requiring the employee to communicate information.
Operate computers and other office equipment requiring the ability to move fingers and hands.
See and read computer monitors and documents.
Remain sitting or standing for long periods of time to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience. 

$29.66 - $46.72
