Job Description
As Compliance & Certification Lead, you will play a critical role in ensuring our robots meet regulatory and safety requirements for real-world deployment in urban environments. You will work closely with engineering, legal, and operations teams to identify compliance risks, propose solutions, and oversee the implementation of design changes needed for certification. Your expertise in robotics regulations, safety standards, and deployment challenges will ensure RIVR’s technology operates safely and legally in public spaces.
What you’ll be doing
- Monitor and interpret changes in relevant regulations as well as develop and implement regulatory strategies.
- Own and drive regulatory compliance throughout the product lifecycle, working closely with the development, product, and operations teams.
- Own and drive the certification process for RIVR’s robotic systems, as the design evolves and new features are added, ensuring compliance with certification standards.
- Work with external advisors to assess regulatory risks and propose mitigations.
- Coordinate with regulatory authorities and certification bodies for operation permissions and product certifications, respectively.
- Develop and maintain documentation, product requirements, and testing processes.
- ccelerate the global compliance and certification reach of our robots, achieving regulatory approval in the US, Switzerland, UK, and the EU.
What you must have
- 5+ years of experience of working in a product-driven industrial setting.
- Good understanding of certification processes for public environments, and experience in securing safety certifications and regulatory approvals for robotic or autonomous systems.
- Experience with identifying and interpreting standards from different fields for a specific application.
- Strong knowledge of relevant standards and frameworks, such as PDD regulations in different US states, CE marking, GDPR, ISO.
- Experience working in urban mobility, last-mile delivery, or robotics companies that deploy real-world autonomous systems.
