The role:
We’re looking for a sharp, curious and data driven Risk & Compliance Associate to join our lean but impactful Compliance team. You’ll play a key role in keeping the company not just on the right side of regulations, but focused on a consumer first mindset, which is at the core of how we operate. This role reports directly to the Chief Compliance Officer.
This is not your typical Compliance role. The team is embedded in the action and working closely across product, operations, legal, and other teams to anticipate challenges, and solve them. If you love achieving clarity, working through complex issues, asking “why”, and proactively staying a few steps ahead, this may be a great fit for you.
Responsibilities will include:
- Building and maintaining successful relationships: promoting a corporate culture of risk and compliance, by ensuring key stakeholders understand and have confidence in how we are meeting our regulatory requirements
- Working cross functionally to review new products and features through a Compliance lens - flagging risks, identifying gaps and proposing solutions
- Making sure our controls are effective by performing compliance assurance duties and synthesizing risk assessments
- Helping maintain and enhance policies and procedures and controls
- Staying up to date on emerging fintech regulations and translate them into actionable plans for the rest of the company
- Monitoring and supporting day to day Compliance operations, including supporting audits and regulatory examinations with a proactive, well-documented approach
- Identifying, assessing and escalating any risks directly to the Chief Compliance Officer and Senior Management
What we are looking for:
- 1-3 years experience in compliance, risk, legal or audit, ideally in a fintech, or financial services environment
- Strong knowledge in financial regulations (or a strong interest)
- A structured thinker and excellent written and verbal communication skills, necessary for explaining complex financial or regulatory frameworks
- A curious mindset. You ask questions, dig into the details, and are always looking to roll up your sleeves to address areas to improve
- Experience in regulatory risk management, control environments, third party vendor management, consumer regulatory compliance and reporting
The base annual salary range is listed below. This role is eligible for additional incentives, including an annual bonus.
