Job Description
Our Taipei Compliance team is part of Compliance, Conduct and Operational Risk (CCOR) within the Risk Management and Compliance organization. It works with the management, business teams and control parties to ensure business activities satisfy pertinent regulatory requirements; also assesses compliance risks and provides guidance and training to employees to facilitate compliance with applicable conduct-of-business regulations and policies governing different businesses.
As an Associate in the team you will be responsible for providing compliance supports for both Taiwan and Hong Kong including providing compliance advices, handling regulatory queries, performing NBIA reviews, supporting compliance projects/initiatives, performing risk assessment reviews, and supporting regional regulatory reporting, etc.
Job Responsibilities:

  • Providing compliance advices to lines of business and corporate functions related to regulations and inquiries/issues
  • Handling regulatory queries, regulatory audits, investigations, and regulatory reporting
  • Identifying regulation/compliance risks, and following up on the implementation status for control mechanisms/ systems including self-assessment for business, monitoring, and/or remediation actions
  • Performing due diligence review and assessments in respect of new business projects and products
  • Interfacing with regulators and self-disciplinary bodies/industry associations
  • Covering core compliance matters for line of business and corporate functions
  • Delivering compliance training to the business
  • Supporting local and regional risk assessments including LERA/QORA/CRA
  • Supporting Taiwan and Hong Kong regulatory reporting and projects/initiatives


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • University degree or above in finance, accounting, legal or related discipline
  • 5 plus year's experiences in financial industry
  • Good understanding of regulatory structures
  • Sound working knowledge of applicable regulations and legislations governing the Taiwan banking industry
  • Effective client focus in terms of developing and maintaining productive partnership with key internal clients across all levels
  • Effective analytical ability and result oriented. Ability to manage priorities and work independently under pressure
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Mandarin
  • Takes the initiative in seeking out opportunities to add value to the business through the Compliance function
  • Proactive in identifying compliance risk and implementing solutions in consultation with the business
