We are looking for a committed Compliance Associate to join our 2nd Line Compliance department at Saxo Bank Group India Pvt Ltd. You will be part of a supportive team, primarily assisting Group Compliance and local Compliance teams with their projects and tasks, as well as overseeing adherence to Indian laws, regulations and internal policies.

In this position, you’ll help protect the organization by participating in monitoring projects, conducting spot checks, and performing compliance reviews.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive profile with experience within control testing preferably within regulatory reporting as per MiFIR guidelines. The ideal candidate should further possess knowledge within Legal compliance and preferably have a legal professional educational background. The candidate will ensure appropriate risk oversight is being maintained for risk exposure of Saxo Group India Pvt Ltd. Responsibilities include supporting thematic monitoring, spot checks and control testing, identifying potential risks, providing independent advisory on Indian laws and recommending corrective actions to uphold compliance.
Responsibilities
From a 2nd Line perspective, identify the legal risk exposure of India entity and offer alternative strategies and mitigation.
Advise on matters related to labour legislation, contractual risks and other legal risks exposures and follow-up with relevant departments to oversee that where legal risks have been identified, appropriate course of action have been taken.
Stay updated on Indian laws and regulations impacting the IT/ITes industry and maintain a library of India laws and regulations in relation to Saxo’s operations in India
Support activities of risk areas such as data protection, regulatory reporting and other risks which the Saxo Bank Group is exposed to.
Support projects, controls and investigations on behalf of the global Compliance function in close collaboration with other Compliance colleagues.
Analyse results and prepare detailed reports with Compliance findings and recommendations.
Report and address compliance issues and create response guideline that will help to address and mitigate threats.
Carry out tasks as part of the monitoring setup for the activities that are outsourced to the office in Gurugram and report on findings.

A law degree from a nationally recognised law school with at least 3 years of experience in a Legal or Compliance department preferably within an international company.
Minimum one year of experience in control testing or Compliance monitoring activities.
Knowledge of Indian laws for Corporates with the ability to interpret various laws.
Knowledge and exposure to financial industry.
Experience or knowledge of transaction reporting as per MiFID guidelines and product governance is an added advantage.
Good drafting and documentation skills, including preparing advisory notes, risk assessments, compliance observations, and management updates.
