Summary of Position:


The Compliance and Risk Specialist will work with clinical, business, and support functions to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies. This position compiles, analyzes, and trends data and information of the organization’s compliance and risk management program under the Compliance Manager’s guidance. This position works with various departments and team leaders to ensure all aspects of operations fall within applicable regulatory standards, state and federal regulations, and best practices.


Essential duties:

Duties include, but are not limited to:

· Compile and analyze audit and reporting data.

· Identify trends in audit and reporting data and assist in developing action plans, as necessary.

· Assist in the development and execution of compliance training and serves as a resource for all staff.

· Collaborate with other departments and leadership to perform internal compliance audits or monitoring activities.

· Conduct testing and monitoring of compliance with internal policies and procedures.

· Monitor of ongoing compliance with external regulatory and accreditation agencies.

· Identify control gaps and formulate action plans to address.

· Monitor and provide assurance that identified findings and action plans are tracked to closure.

· Monitor incident reports and investigations and perform analysis of incident trends.

· Conduct risk assessments.

· Conduct research into new regulations or laws that could impact on the organization’s operations.

· Prepare reports detailing findings from compliance testing and analysis.

· Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Qualifications:

Basic Knowledge and Skills:

· Must be (at least) 21 years old.

· Considerable responsibility regarding general assignments in planning time, method, manner, and/or sequence of performance of own work, in addition, to the organization and delegation of work operations for a group of employees engaged in widely diversified activities.

Education and Experiences

· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in healthcare administration, nursing, public health, or a closely related field required.

· 1-year related experience and/or training in risk, compliance, and/or regulatory governance, including conducting internal audits, risk assessments, and/or reporting.

· Clinical experience in a healthcare setting (e.g., nursing, medical assistant, behavioral health, or other direct patient care role) strongly preferred.


Software skills required

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Database, Presentation/PowerPoint, Excel, Word Processing

· Additional software skills: Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Electronic Handbook

· Compliance software tools

Skills Required

  • Minimum age 21
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, nursing, public health, or closely related field
  • 1 year related experience in risk, compliance, regulatory governance, internal audits, risk assessments, or reporting
  • Clinical experience in a healthcare setting (nursing, medical assistant, behavioral health, or other direct patient care role)
