Compliance Analyst

Job Purpose

The Compliance Analyst will support the Compliance function in monitoring activities, transparency reporting, and the effective use of technology and vendor solutions designed to enhance compliance oversight. This role will work closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure compliance data is accurate, processes are efficient, and available technology capabilities are fully leveraged.

The Compliance Analyst will have primary responsibility for day-to-day activities related to compliance monitoring and transparency reporting, with opportunities to support and develop capabilities in compliance training and policy. This position is well suited for an early-career compliance professional who is analytical, detail-oriented, technology-minded, and interested in developing expertise within the biopharmaceutical compliance environment.  This position will report into the Senior Manager, Compliance. 

Essential Job Functions

Monitoring & Compliance Technology

• Support the implementation, optimization, and ongoing use of compliance monitoring technologies and related vendor solutions.
• Partner with Compliance, business stakeholders, IT/Data, and external vendors to understand monitoring requirements and translate them into effective technology-enabled processes.
• Monitor system performance and outputs to identify trends, anomalies, data quality issues, and opportunities for process improvement.
• Help maximize the full capabilities of vendor platforms by identifying and implementing functionality that can improve monitoring, reporting, automation, data analysis, and compliance oversight.
• Develop and maintain monitoring processes, documentation, procedures, and reporting.
• Assist with investigating monitoring results and escalating potential compliance concerns to appropriate Compliance personnel.
• Support periodic assessments of monitoring methodologies and recommend enhancements based on business needs, regulatory expectations, and available technology capabilities.
• Maintain effective working relationships with technology vendors and ensure deliverables meet established compliance requirements and expectations.

Transparency Reporting

• Support the accurate, timely, and complete collection, review, validation, and reporting of transparency data.
• Partner with relevant business functions and external vendors to resolve data discrepancies and ensure data integrity.
• Perform data quality checks and reconciliation activities to identify and resolve errors or inconsistencies.
• Support reporting processes and preparation for applicable transparency reporting requirements.
• Maintain appropriate documentation, controls, and audit trails supporting transparency reporting activities.
• Identify opportunities to automate or streamline transparency processes while maintaining appropriate compliance controls.
• Monitor changes in applicable transparency reporting requirements and support updates to processes and systems as needed.

Training & Policy Support

• Support the development, maintenance, and administration of Compliance training materials and related communications.
• Assist with tracking training completion and identifying opportunities to improve training effectiveness and user experience.
• Support the review and maintenance of Compliance policies, procedures, and guidance documents.
• Help communicate policy and process updates to relevant stakeholders.
• Assist with identifying areas where additional training, guidance, or policy clarification may be beneficial.

Compliance Operations & Continuous Improvement

• Maintain accurate and organized compliance documentation and records.
• Prepare reports, presentations, dashboards, and other materials to communicate monitoring and transparency activities and trends.
• Support internal Compliance projects, audits, assessments, and other initiatives as needed.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, data quality, automation, and overall effectiveness of Compliance processes.
• Maintain awareness of applicable industry practices, regulatory developments, and emerging compliance technology.
• Perform other Compliance-related duties and projects as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as business, life sciences, healthcare, finance, data analytics, information systems, or a related discipline.
• 0–2 years of relevant professional experience; internships or co-op experience in compliance, healthcare, life sciences, data analytics, risk management, or a related field is a plus.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• High level of attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
• Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated interest in technology, data, and process improvement.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.

Preferred

• Experience working with compliance, transparency reporting, healthcare, pharmaceutical, or life sciences data.
• Familiarity with compliance monitoring, risk management, or internal controls.
• Experience working with third-party vendors or technology platforms.
• Experience with data visualization, reporting tools, or analytics platforms.
• Familiarity with applicable pharmaceutical industry compliance requirements and transparency reporting concepts.
• Experience developing training materials, policies, procedures, or process documentation.

Working Conditions

• This is a hybrid role based in Xeris’ Chicago office and requires a minimum of three days per week in the office.

• Position may require periodic evening and weekend work, as necessary to fulfill obligations.

• Travel of up to 10%

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $78,000 - $114,400.

We are committed to offering competitive compensation. Starting pay is determined based on a variety of factors, including the role, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, education, internal equity, market data, and the location of the role, where applicable.

The level of the position will be determined based on the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience. Final determination of the actual base salary offered depends on several factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s skills, experience, education, location, and business needs. Employees are eligible for equity or long-term incentive awards, where applicable.  Field Sales role employees are eligible for a quarterly commission structure. Non-Sales role employees are eligible for an annual bonus.
