The Role

JOB DESCRIPTION

Compensation

$55,000.00 - $95,900.00

Purpose

To support the execution of internal audits, assessing the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes. To analyze data, document findings, and collaborate with stakeholders to identify and mitigate risks, ensuring Sysco's operations are efficient, compliant, and aligned with strategic objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Take part in Company-wide initiatives where compliance related skillset can be utilized. 

  • Respond to requests/inquiries from business partners as well as requests for due diligence related to business and regulatory compliance control framework. 

  • Assist Director, Compliance Canada with the implementation/review of new controls across the country. 

  • Evaluate internal operational and procedural compliance. 

  • Communicate compliance policies and guidelines to regional management and designated departments. 

  • Implement, execute, and manage the organization’s compliance and risk assessment programs for each one of the regions and provide recommendations for necessary changes. 

  • Coordinate efforts with regional process owners to execute SOX testing based on the annual compliance plan. 

  • Prepare all working papers and supporting documentation evidence according to audit quality standards in a consistent manner. 

  • Partner with regional management to determine appropriate remediation steps and ensure corrective actions are being implemented accordingly. 

  • Assist in the design of the review scope for regions that have been considered in the annual review calendar prepared by the Sysco Advisory & Audit Services group (SAAS), this will include determining controls and approach for each project assigned. 

  • Coordinate external requests for customer audits. 

  • Communicate and follow-up on audit exceptions to Pricing management. 

  • Assist regions with Segregation of Duties (SOD) and system access reviews on a quarterly basis. 

  • Provide guidance, technical expertise, and support to regional process owners to ensure consistency in different tasks. 

  • Provide support with development and execution of internal training and communications. 

  • Complete special projects as assigned. 

  • Complies with Sysco’s Food Safety Policy and procedures to ensure food safety, quality and legality requirements are met. 

  • Is willing to work safely with minimal environmental impact and understands the importance of reporting all hazards, incidents, and environmental spills immediately to their Supervisor. 

  • Understands that they play an integral role in their own safety and that of their colleagues and is willing to speak out when hazards are present. 

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Skills/Job Requirements

  • 2+ years of auditing experience and/or an accounting role 

  • 4+ years of experience in an internal audit, risk management, process mapping or related areas would be an asset. 

  • Previous Distribution/Supply Chain experience an asset. 

  • Solid understanding of risk management and/or accounting/finance background 

  • College degree in accounting or business 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, with concentration in accounting, or equivalent experience is an asset. 

  • Professional designation or active enrollment in a Professional program an asset 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook 

  • Knowledgeable of IDS/AS400, IBM Cognos an asset 

  • Ability to summarize data and drafting business reports. 

  • Ability to optimize processes, promote automation and manage change.

Objectif

Soutenir l’exécution des audits internes en évaluant l’efficacité de la gestion des risques, des contrôles et des processus de gouvernance. Responsabilités

  • Participer aux initiatives à l’échelle de l’entreprise où les compétences en conformité peuvent être mises à contribution.
  • Répondre aux demandes/renseignements des partenaires d’affaires ainsi qu’aux demandes de diligence raisonnable liées au cadre de contrôle de conformité opérationnelle et réglementaire.
  • Assister la directrice, Conformité Canada, dans la mise en œuvre et la révision de nouveaux contrôles à travers le pays.
  • Évaluer la conformité opérationnelle et procédurale interne.
  • Communiquer les politiques et lignes directrices en matière de conformité à la direction régionale et aux services désignés.
  • Mettre en œuvre, exécuter et gérer les programmes de conformité et d’évaluation des risques de l’organisation pour chacune des régions, et formuler des recommandations pour les changements nécessaires.
  • Coordonner les efforts avec les responsables régionaux des processus pour exécuter les tests SOX selon le plan annuel de conformité.
  • Préparer l’ensemble des dossiers de travail et des documents justificatifs conformément aux normes de qualité d’audit, de manière cohérente.
  • Collaborer avec la direction régionale pour déterminer les mesures correctives appropriées et s’assurer que les actions correctives sont mises en œuvre.
  • Contribuer à la conception de la portée des examens pour les régions incluses dans le calendrier annuel de révision préparé par le groupe Sysco Advisory & Audit Services (SAAS), incluant la détermination des contrôles et de l’approche pour chaque projet assigné.
  • Coordonner les demandes externes liées aux audits des clients.
  • Communiquer les exceptions d’audit à la direction de la tarification et assurer le suivi.
  • Aider les régions avec la Ségrégation des tâches (SOD) et les examens d’accès aux systèmes sur une base trimestrielle.
  • Fournir orientation, expertise technique et soutien aux responsables régionaux des processus afin d’assurer la cohérence des différentes tâches.
  • Soutenir le développement et l’exécution des formations et communications internes.
  • Réaliser des projets spéciaux au besoin.
  • Respecter la politique et les procédures de Sysco en matière de salubrité alimentaire afin d’assurer la conformité aux exigences de sécurité, de qualité et de légalité.
  • Travailler de manière sécuritaire avec un impact environnemental minimal et comprendre l’importance de signaler immédiatement tout danger, incident ou déversement environnemental à son superviseur.
  • Comprendre qu’il ou elle joue un rôle essentiel dans sa propre sécurité et celle de ses collègues, et être prêt(e) à intervenir lorsque des dangers sont présents.
  • Effectuer toute autre tâche assignée.

Qualifications / Compétences / Exigences du poste

  • Plus de 2 ans d’expérience en audit et/ou dans un rôle comptable.
  • Plus de 4 ans d’expérience en audit interne, gestion des risques, cartographie des processus ou domaines connexes (atout).
  • Expérience préalable en distribution/chaîne d’approvisionnement (atout).
  • Solide compréhension de la gestion des risques et/ou formation en comptabilité/finance.
  • Diplôme collégial en comptabilité ou en administration des affaires.
  • Baccalauréat en administration des affaires, avec concentration en comptabilité, ou expérience équivalente (atout).
  • Désignation professionnelle ou inscription active à un programme professionnel (atout).
  • Maîtrise de Microsoft Office, incluant Excel, Word, PowerPoint et Outlook.
