Who you are:

As a Compliance Advisor - Lending, you are a key collaborator. You’ll partner with our lending-focused lines of business, providing advice and strategic compliance guidance on regulatory requirements, including those related to consumer protection and fair lending, such as Reg. Z, Reg. B, UDAAP, HMDA, and other applicable laws and regulations. This role provides proactive compliance guidance to help business partners mitigate regulatory risks while supporting Frost’s business objectives. Working closely with Frost’s legal and lending teams, the Compliance Advisor helps ensure that lending products and services comply with applicable laws and regulations, creating a safe and secure experience for our customers. What you’ll do:

  • Provide guidance on applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies to identify and assess existing and emerging compliance risks, including regulatory change implementations, to evaluate mitigating controls, and to facilitate effective and timely risk remediation through action plan oversight

  • Conduct ongoing reviews of regulatory developments to identify and assess their impact on business operations, and support implementation necessary changes to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and work with business units to ensure that controls effectively mitigate risks

  • Provide accurate records of compliance activities and assist in the development, review, and enhancement of compliance policies, procedures, and governance frameworks

  • Continuously assess the impact of control deficiencies for assigned business units to, identify compliance issues, assess root causes, escalate concerns as necessary, and establish  appropriate action plans to facilitate effective and timely risk remediation

  • Assist in the periodic preparation of management, board, and regulatory reporting, regulatory filings, notifications, and responses to audits and regulatory examinations.

  • Maintain a current knowledge of consumer protection laws, regulations,  emerging risks, and how they impact Frost products, processes, systems, and internal controls

  • Support compliance training initiatives by developing and delivering guidance to employees on regulatory obligations and best practices

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, in a related field, or equivalent experience

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in compliance

  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and assess risks and their potential impact to lines of business

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize risks and create the appropriate action plan to mitigate risks effectively

  • Demonstrated knowledge of applicable laws and regulations

  • Basic understanding of how the Compliance department functions to support the Bank

  • Proven ability to collaborate and establish partnerships with non-technical stakeholders

  • Proven ability to interpret laws and regulations to disseminate information in non-technical terms

Additional Preferred Skills:

  • CRCM, CFIRS, or equivalent professional certification

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of relevant compliance experience
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and assess compliance risks and their business impact
  • Ability to prioritize risks and develop effective remediation action plans
  • Demonstrated knowledge of applicable consumer protection and fair lending laws and regulations (e.g., Reg Z, Reg B, UDAAP, HMDA)
  • Basic understanding of Compliance department functions supporting a bank
  • Proven collaboration skills with non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to translate laws and regulations into non-technical guidance
  • CRCM, CFIRS, or equivalent professional certification
