- Manage safety & health programs, ensuring prevention of injuries, illness, and property loss.
- Manage regulatory requirements, ensuring prevention of citations and penalties.
- Manage medical and worker's compensation related activities.
- Ensure appropriate documentation (i.e. certificate of insurance, safety training, OSHA log, etc.).
- Facilitate and attend Executive Safety Committee, Joint Safety/Ergonomic Committee, and other committee meetings.
- Analyze and submit data for Monthly DART Rate report.
- Monitor and administer safety programs (i.e. Lock out/Tag Out, Confined Space/Ergonomic, Hot Work/Industrial Hygiene, etc.).
- Conduct monthly safety inspections and audit activities.
- Assist with conducting accident investigations.
- All other relevant tasks as needed.
- Bachelor Degree, preferably in Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or other closely related discipline required.
- 7+ years relevant safety management experience, preferably within poultry industry.
- Technical knowledge of OSHA regulations.
- Certification as Safety Professional (CSP) preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of ammonia refrigeration and electrical systems.
- Excellent communication and public speaking skills.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements (i.e. OSHA, DOT, Worker's Compensation, etc.).
- Proficient technology and computer skills.
Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related discipline
- 7+ years relevant safety management experience (preferably in poultry industry)
- Technical knowledge of OSHA regulations
