Competitive Intelligence Manager

Location: Boston Seaport HQ | Hybrid

Nasuni is seeking a Competitive Intelligence Manager to be a strategic force in driving our competitive strategy and positioning Nasuni as the leader in cloud file data services. This role will deliver critical insights, timely competitive analysis, and enable our sales teams with the tools they need to win in every deal. You’ll be the eyes and ears of Nasuni’s competitive landscape, continuously monitoring key players and market trends to provide actionable intelligence that shapes both our strategy and execution.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Competitive Analysis & Research

  • Strategic Segmentation: Identify and segment top competitors into multiple tiers, maintaining a detailed repository of intelligence.
  • Product Evaluation: Conduct hands-on assessments of competitive products, analyze pricing models, and understand field sales tactics.
  • Rapid Response: Deliver quick-turnaround “day 0” analysis on major competitor announcements and market shifts.
  • Trend Monitoring: Stay vigilant on industry developments and emerging threats that could impact Nasuni.

2. Competitive Strategy Development

  • Sales Collaboration: Partner with Product Marketing and Sales to translate competitive insights into actionable sales strategies.
  • Sales Tools Creation: Develop playbooks, battle cards, and other resources to equip sales teams with winning strategies.
  • Roadmap Input: Collaborate with Product Management to influence the product roadmap based on competitive intelligence.

3. Sales Enablement & Field Engagement

  • Training & Enablement: Lead engaging, bi-directional training sessions to educate sales teams on competitive positioning, objection handling, and differentiation strategies.
  • Feedback Loop: Establish a feedback mechanism to gather field insights and refine competitive intelligence continuously.
  • Content Delivery: Create and deliver high-impact training and resources tailored for global sales teams.

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Product Marketing Alignment: Work closely with Product Marketing on messaging, positioning, and competitive differentiation.
  • Field Enablement Support: Develop tools and resources that empower the sales organization to excel in competitive situations.
  • Technical Insights: Partner with Solutions Architects to gain deeper technical knowledge of competitor offerings.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • Experience: 5-10 years in competitive intelligence, product marketing, or a related role, ideally within enterprise software or cloud storage.
  • Technical Expertise: Hands-on experience analyzing and evaluating technical products.
  • Sales Enablement Tools: Proven ability to create impactful sales tools, including battle cards and playbooks.
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of the cloud storage and enterprise IT markets is a plus.
