Position Title: Competitive Intelligence Intern
Location: Remote
Duration: Summer 2025 (10–12 weeks)
Hours: 30-40 hours/week
Compensation: $15/hour
About C.H. Robinson
This paid internship will start with an interactive onboarding program where you'll gain insight into C.H. Robinson’s industry-leading technology, business development strategies, and customer-centric culture. You'll be integrated into our Enterprise Strategy, giving you hands-on experience in driving business growth, uncovering insights, and building a capability in the Competitive Intelligence team.
Throughout the program, you will gain real-world experience, receive mentorship from experienced professionals, and have the opportunity to build a strong network within the logistics and transportation industry. By the end of the summer, you’ll have sharpened your relationship management, analytical and problem-solving skills, and communication skills while contributing to impactful initiatives that drive success for C.H. Robinson.
Key Responsibilities
- Database Development:
- Research and source contacts across target segments (e.g., shippers, carriers, tech providers, trade associations).
- Build and maintain a centralized tracker with detailed profiles and outreach status.
- Interview Management:
- Draft outreach emails and manage scheduling with high‑value interviewees.
- Prepare interview guides and question frameworks tailored to different stakeholder groups.
- Conduct 30–60 minute phone or video interviews, capturing key insights and probing strategic themes.
- Insight Synthesis:
- Summarize qualitative findings into concise reports or slide decks.
- Identify patterns, emerging needs, and potential blind spots to inform strategic recommendations.
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration:
- Partner with Data Science to triangulate quantitative and qualitative inputs.
- Present interim findings to the Strategy team and iterate on research approach.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Economics, or Intelligence Studies.
- Strong research skills with the ability to unearth and validate high‑quality contacts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable engaging leaders and technical experts.
- Organized and detail‑oriented; experience maintaining CRMs or large Excel/Google Sheets databases.
- Proactive, resourceful self‑starter who thrives in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with LinkedIn, ZoomInfo, or similar prospecting tools.
- Prior experience conducting market research, qualitative interviews, or customer discovery.
- Basic knowledge of ChatGPT and Microsoft Teams
- Comfort with PowerPoint to craft clean, data‑driven presentations.

Compensation Range
$15 - $30 per hour
The base pay range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum base pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Your individual base pay within this range is determined by work location, which takes into account geographic cost of labor, and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
