Our global Marketing & BD team supports the firm on a wide range of business development, marketing, and client relationship management activities. The team is divided into a number of key areas: Clients & Sectors, covering Sector M&BD and Client Development; Practice M&BD; Business Intelligence; Pitches and Pursuits; and Corporate Communications, which comprises PR, Brand, Design, Events, InterAction and Digital.
We are seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst to support the firm’s growth objectives by delivering actionable market and competitive business intelligence. This role combines deep research expertise, strong data analysis, and strong business acumen to identify opportunities and competitive advantages across all practice areas. The successful candidate will transform complex information and data into clear, compelling intelligence reports and communications that support firm's strategy and business development decision-making. The role requires working with senior stakeholders across the business, working to tight timeframes, and with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Supporting the firm’s growth objectives by providing relevant data and analysis as it relates to various client development initiatives. This includes:
- Research, analyze, and write reports on a wide variety of company, business, industry, markets, and/or competitor data to support the firm’s business development and strategic initiatives.
- Stay current on critical news developments affecting the legal and other industries, key clients, in addition to staying abreast of other topics, which may be assigned.
- Assist with maintaining various Power BI dashboards to ensure all data is accurate.
- Extracting and summarizing data from the firm’s finance system or/or dashboards to support internal meetings and client targeting activities.
- Providing data and analysis for presentations conducted by the Managing Partner for Growth.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with senior stakeholders across the business to understand their data needs and provide actionable insights.
- Leading and managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives.
- Identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing innovative solutions to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness Client Development reporting initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Highly tuned research and analysis skills, with the ability to analyze information from a variety of sources and draw conclusions to provide actionable intelligence.
- Experience in Power BI and advanced Excel tools such as Power Query and Power Pivot are essential.
- Experience in business research and analysis, using a range of online databases. Experience in working within a multicultural and international environment.
- Strong operational and project / programme management skills.
- Ability to solve problems and successfully engage with appropriate technical and internal resources.
- Ability to juggle multiple projects through highly effective organizational skills.
- Ability to make sound decisions quickly and efficiently.
- Ability to think strategically and commercially and demonstrate a high level of initiative.
- Highly motivated and enthusiastic self-starter with a can-do attitude.
- Robust, resourceful and resilient, with the ability to adapt quickly to different situations and personalities.
- Able to gain the respect and trust of senior partners and senior colleagues within M&BD alike.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Three (3) + years of experience working in data analytics in a large professional services or corporate environment.
- Finance or Information Management related tertiary qualification or BS/BA degree (or level equivalent) in finance, business administration or informatics. A financial analysis and research analysis focus would be advantageous.
- Post Graduate Diploma and/or Professional Qualifications in business, research or finance/accounting would be advantageous, but not essential.
HOURS
Core hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., including one hour for lunch. Must be flexible to work overtime as needed.
