We are currently seeking for Compensations Specialist HR to join our Mexico City team.
A day in the life of this role
The Compensations Specialist HR Develops and manages base pay, merit increase, and incentive compensation programs for Nissan North America and its subsidiaries, ensuring alignment with business objectives, market competitiveness, and organizational needs. Collaborates with global compensation teams to identify and implement best practices in compensation strategy, program design, and workforce planning, supporting the successful deployment of global initiatives at the regional level. Contributes to strengthening Nissan’s employer brand, enhancing employee value proposition, and driving sustainable, profitable growth.
Who are we looking for:
- Administers a wide range of compensation functions for Nissan North America.
- Bachelor’s degree / Master’s degree in communication, marketing or a related field
- Contributes to the direction of company-wide compensation strategies, programs and practices. Conducts market assessments and annual salary structure adjustment assessments.
- Functions as a key contact for general industry and the automotive industry regarding company pay practices.
- Documents findings and collaborates on recommendations to executive management.
- Administers merit processes and off cycle pay adjustments.
- Collaborates with line management on design and implementation of affiliate incentive compensation plans, including eligibility requirements, funding mechanisms, allocation methods and award targets.
- Monitors plan effectiveness and reports to HR management. Administers performance-based pay plans including performance measurements and procedures to track program effectiveness and return on human resource investment.
- Conducts studies for management on job design, work-flow and organizational levels and makes recommendations to enhance organizational effectiveness.
- Provides compensation support to the hiring process by reviewing candidate qualifications and making recommendations on appropriate salary proposals.
- As necessary, performs other related duties of which the above are representative.

- Thorough knowledge of total cash compensation.
- Possesses in-depth knowledge of federal and applicable state labor laws.
- Thorough understanding of policy administration, practices and procedures.
- Excellent analytical, writing, networking and organizational skills.
- Good interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Good problem solving, conflict resolution and project management skills.
- Must be fluent in English and Spanish.
- Computer Skills:Advanced knowledge of word processor, spreadsheet, other PC applications, or HR platforms to create specialized applications or products of a highly technical nature.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline. Consider related college or technical courses, seminars and in-house classroom training. MBA or Compensation certification preferred.
- Previous Job experience:
Experience: 2 - 4 years of professional level experience in HR or Compensation planning and program development.
