We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented Compensation Specialist to join our Human Resources team on-site at our Headquarters Service Center in Warren, OH.

In this role, you will be implementing and managing compensation programs that motivate employees and align with organizational goals. You’ll work closely with HR partners to ensure our pay practices are competitive, compliant, and transparent. The ideal candidate is passionate about data-driven decision-making, has strong communication skills, and enjoys navigating complex employment laws.

Responsibilities:

  • Conducts market pricing and benchmarking using external compensation surveys to ensure competitive pay practices
  • Assists in maintaining salary structures, pay grades, and compensation ranges across the organization
  • Supports the administration of compensation programs including merit increases, promotions, and market adjustments
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies and procedures pertaining to compensation administration
  • Participates in compensation related projects such as salary structure updates, pay equity analysis, and compensation program improvements
  • Recommends actions necessary to ensure adherence to said standards
  • Handles audits/reviews regarding compensation
  • Utilizes knowledge of the Fair Labor Standards Act as well as survey documentation to determine appropriate FLSA status
  • Models financial and operation impact of compensation related plans
  • Utilizes the HRIS system to accomplish company objectives

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, Human Resources or a related field preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in the field or related area preferred
  • Knowledge of compensation structures, job evaluation methodologies, and pay practices preferred
  • Proficiency with position evaluation methodology, federal/state regulations regarding wage and hour laws, FLSA, Equal Pay Act, etc. preferred
  • Must have excellent mathematical and analytical skills, including knowledge of statistics and a high attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Ability to learn and utilize programming platforms
  • Assertive, outgoing, professional demeanor
  • Serve as a role model and advocate for the company
  • Conduct and maintain a professional, courteous and positive image at all times
  • Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  • Excellent organizational, writing and communication skills
  • Able to multi-task in a fast-paced, constantly-changing environment
  • Able to work independently without direct supervision
