Our Shared Services team in Las Vegas supports the people, processes, and systems that keep nearly 3,000 employees across 40+ locations performing at their best. The Compensation Specialist is a critical function within our HR team -- responsible for ensuring our pay structures are fair, competitive, and consistently applied across the organization.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
• Draft, build, and manage pay plans across the organization -- including variable compensation structures for sales, service, and fixed ops roles at the dealership level
• Review compensation for new hires and internal transfers -- ensuring offers align with established pay bands, position classifications, and internal equity standards
• Maintain and audit position codes, job titles, and compensation packages in the HRIS -- ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment across all locations
• Partner with HR Generalists, Talent Acquisition, and department leaders to support compensation decisions for new roles, restructured positions, and market adjustments
• Conduct regular compensation analysis -- benchmarking roles against market data to ensure Swickard remains competitive in every market we operate in
• Support the development and documentation of compensation policies, guidelines, and pay structure frameworks
• Assist with merit review cycles and compensation planning -- preparing data, modeling scenarios, and supporting manager and leadership decision-making
• Identify and flag compensation discrepancies, inequities, or compliance risks -- escalating proactively and recommending corrective action
• Maintain accurate, confidential compensation records and support reporting needs for HR leadership and finance
• Contribute to HR projects and initiatives that support Swickard's growth, culture, and operational excellence
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
• 2+ years of experience in compensation, total rewards, HR operations, or a related analytical HR function -- required
• Experience with variable pay plan design or administration a strong plus -- automotive, retail, or commission-based compensation environments especially valuable
• Strong analytical and Excel skills -- comfortable working with large data sets, building models, and identifying patterns or discrepancies
• Familiarity with HRIS platforms -- Paylocity experience a significant advantage
• High integrity and strict respect for confidentiality -- compensation data is sensitive and you treat it accordingly
• Detail-oriented and accurate -- errors in compensation have real consequences and you understand that
• Clear communicator -- able to explain compensation decisions and structures to managers and employees at all levels
• Organized and self-directed -- able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines without losing precision
