What You’ll Do

As the Compensation Manager / Total Rewards Leader, you will play a critical role in evaluating, enhancing, and evolving Fleet Farm’s compensation programs across our stores, distribution centers, and Store Support Center. You will partner with HR leaders and business stakeholders to develop compensation solutions that are competitive, equitable, and aligned with our organizational goals.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Evaluate Fleet Farm’s current compensation programs and develop recommendations to strengthen our compensation philosophy, processes, and overall Total Rewards strategy.
  • Design, enhance, and manage compensation programs that support business objectives, talent needs, and organizational growth.
  • Conduct job evaluations, market pricing, benchmarking, and internal equity analyses to ensure compensation decisions are data-driven and consistent.
  • Develop and maintain salary structures, pay ranges, job architecture, and compensation guidelines.
  • Analyze external market data, regional pay differences, and industry trends to provide insights and recommendations to leaders.
  • Lead annual compensation processes, including merit planning, salary reviews, market adjustments, and incentive programs.
  • Partner with HR Business Partners, Finance, Payroll, and business leaders to provide compensation expertise and guidance.
  • Create reporting, analytics, and dashboards that translate compensation data into actionable insights.
  • Identify opportunities to improve compensation processes, systems, and tools to create a more efficient and transparent experience.
  • Develop communication strategies and resources to help leaders and team members understand compensation programs and practices.
  • Stay current on compensation trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure Fleet Farm’s programs remain competitive.
Who You Are

You are a strategic compensation professional who enjoys solving complex problems, analyzing data, and building solutions. You have the ability to balance long-term strategy with hands-on execution and are energized by the opportunity to create meaningful change.

You bring:

  • Demonstrated experience designing, analyzing, and improving compensation programs within a complex organization.
  • Strong knowledge of compensation methodologies, including market pricing, job evaluation, salary benchmarking, pay structures, and compensation philosophy.
  • Experience using compensation data and analytics to make recommendations and influence business decisions.
  • The ability to evaluate current programs, identify gaps, and develop practical solutions that improve effectiveness.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and communicate insights clearly.
  • Confidence partnering with executives, HR leaders, and business stakeholders to influence compensation decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex compensation concepts in a clear and approachable way.
  • Experience working in a multi-location environment such as retail, distribution, manufacturing, or corporate settings is preferred.
  • A continuous improvement mindset with the ability to thrive in an evolving environment.
