The Impact you will have in this role:
The Compensation Executive Director is accountable for executing a comprehensive compensation strategy that advances the firm’s human capital agenda, supports business performance, and reinforces DTCC’s pay‑for‑performance philosophy. This leader oversees all compensation programs, governance, communications, and analytics while guiding a high‑performing team and advising senior executives across the organization.
Your Primary Responsibilities:
- Executes the DTCC compensation strategy and ensures alignment with DTCC’s business, talent, and governance priorities.
- Provides oversight of DTCC’s compensation programs and the annual compensation cycle, ensuring well designed and executed processes, compensation structures, market benchmarking, job architecture, governance and communications.
- Provides direct compensation support and consultation to designated client groups and HR partners, offering guidance on offers, job evaluations, market data, pay recommendations, and complex cases.
- Advises senior leaders and executives on compensation strategy, market trends, organizational implications, and high‑impact decisions, translating insights into clear recommendations.
- Supports Board‑related compensation activities, including preparation of materials, insights, analyses, and alignment with Board‑approved frameworks and governance standards.
- Leads compensation‑related communication and change‑management activities to ensure understanding, adoption, and consistency across the organization.
- Ensures compliance with internal controls, governance processes, and regulatory requirements; proactively identifies and mitigates risks through ongoing review and auditing.
- Leads and develops a high‑performing compensation team, building capability, accountability, and a culture of excellence while coaching and empowering team members through effective delegation and maintaining executive oversight of high‑quality deliverables.

Qualifications:
- 20+ years of progressive HR/Compensation experience, including 8+ years in leadership roles; experience in multinational and Financial Services environments strongly preferred, with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience.
- Demonstrated ability to set and execute compensation strategies and design competitive programs (salary structures, incentives, benchmarking, job architecture) aligned to business and governance priorities.
- Strong business acumen, analytical and critical‑thinking capability, with the ability to translate complex data into insights and strategic recommendations for senior and Board‑level stakeholders.
- Exceptional communication, consulting, and influencing skills, with proven experience supporting leaders and HR partners on compensation decisions, job evaluations, and market insights.
- Proven ability to lead enterprise‑wide initiatives, balancing strategic and operational demands; strong project management, problem‑solving, and negotiation skills.
- Experience managing vendors and external consulting partners, ensuring partnership effectiveness and accountability for results.
- Demonstrated success leading and developing high‑performing teams, fostering capability, accountability, and a culture of excellence.
- Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency, especially in Excel modeling and analytics.
The salary range is indicative for roles at the same level within DTCC across all US locations.
