The University of Miami has an exciting opportunity for a Compensation Consultant. The Compensation Consultant serves as a strategic partner to HR and business leaders, delivering expert guidance on compensation design, performance management, and workforce planning. This role supports the development and implementation of equitable, market-aligned compensation programs and performance frameworks that drive employee engagement and organizational effectiveness.

Core Job Summary:    

1. Serves as a subject matter expert to HR Business Partners and department leaders.

2. Presents findings and recommendations to leadership, including compensation assessments and pay equity reviews.

3. Collaborates with Talent Management and HRIS to ensure data integrity and system alignment.

4. Conducts job evaluations, market pricing, and internal equity analyses.

5. Develops and maintains salary structures, merit matrices, and incentive models. 6. Supports compensation planning cycles, including annual merit and bonus programs.

7. Partners with HR leadership to align performance metrics with compensation outcomes.

8. Provides consultation on performance calibration, goal setting, and rating distributions.

9. Analyzes performance data to identify trends and recommends program enhancements.

10. Ensures compensation practices comply with institutional policies and regulatory requirements.

11. Supports audits, internal reviews, and documentation of compensation decisions.

12. Contributes to the development of dashboards and KPIs to monitor compensation and performance trends.

13. Participates in cross-functional initiatives to streamline processes and enhance employee experience.

14. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.                                                                                                                      

Core Qualifications:                                                                                             

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field

Experience:  

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
  • Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
  • Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
  • Proficiency in computer software (i.e. Microsoft Office)
