The Consultant II, Compensation serves as a trusted compensation advisor, providing analysis, consultation, and recommendations related to compensation programs, organizational design, job evaluation, classification, and pay practices. This role partners with business leaders and Human Resources to support job reclassifications, organizational restructures, new position creation, market pricing, salary administration, sales compensation, and pay equity initiatives.
The ideal candidate combines strong analytical capabilities with expertise in compensation strategy, market analysis, job architecture, and internal equity practices.
Key ResponsibilitiesCompensation Analysis & ConsultingConduct comprehensive compensation analyses, including:
Internal equity reviews
Market pricing studies
Salary benchmarking
Cost and financial impact analyses
Ad hoc compensation surveys
Market trend analysis
Provide data-driven recommendations regarding pay decisions, market adjustments, promotions, reclassifications, and internal equity adjustments.
Support compensation program effectiveness by ensuring alignment with organizational goals and market competitiveness.
Review and assess requests for new positions and job reclassifications.
Perform job analysis, evaluate role scope and responsibilities, and recommend appropriate job grades and salary ranges.
Partner with HR and business leaders to develop and maintain job descriptions that accurately reflect business needs.
Apply job evaluation methodologies and classification frameworks consistently across the organization.
Provide guidance on sales compensation and commission-related practices.
Assist with organizational design initiatives and workforce restructuring efforts.
Evaluate the compensation impact of organizational changes and recommend solutions.
Maintain accurate documentation, including:
Job descriptions
Organizational charts
Market pricing data
Compensation analyses
Ensure compensation recommendations support internal equity, external market competitiveness, and applicable compensation policies.
Collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence, Talent Acquisition, HR Business Partners, and business leaders on compensation-related initiatives.
Support additional Human Resources projects and programs as needed.
Bachelor's degree and 5-7 years of professional experience in compensation, human resources, finance, or related field

High School Diploma/GED and 9-11 years of relevant compensation experience
Experience administering or supporting sales compensation and commission programs
Experience conducting compensation analyses, market pricing, and salary benchmarking
Experience with job classification, job evaluation, and organizational design
Experience making compensation recommendations related to promotions, reclassifications, salary adjustments, and pay equity
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification
Experience with compensation survey tools and market data platforms
Experience supporting organizational restructures and workforce planning initiatives
Knowledge of compensation strategy, job architecture, pay equity, and salary administration best practices
Strong understanding of:

$100,000 - $119,000 annually
Final pay rate is dependent on experience, training, education, and location.
