Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Compensation & Benefits Specialist to support payroll and reward operations across our European business. Based in either the UK or Ireland, this is a hybrid role offering a mix of office and remote working. You will take ownership of end-to-end payroll processes across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and effective management of outsourced providers.

 

In addition, the role will support the administration and continuous improvement of benefits and reward programmes, contributing to key activities such as salary reviews, reporting, and employee lifecycle processes. The position requires strong analytical capability, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering a high-quality employee experience.

 

Key Responsibilities

Payroll

  • You will lead end-to-end payroll operations across Europe, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with HMRC, ROI, and wider European regulations.
  • You will manage the relationship with an outsourced payroll providers across Europe and driving continuous service improvements.
  • You will oversee overtime processes, conduct regular payroll audits, and ensure all employee data, payments, and deductions are maintained accurately.
  • You will deliver payroll reporting, benchmarking, and compensation insights to support business decision-making.

 

Benefits & Reward

  • You will administer pension and benefits schemes, working closely with external providers and managing broker renewals while enhancing the overall employee experience.
  • The role involves producing accurate reporting, maintaining HR systems (including onboarding and offboarding processes), and ensuring all employment changes are communicated appropriately.
  • You will support employee engagement through clear communication of pay and benefits.
  • You will contribute to key reward activities, including annual salary and bonus reviews, gender pay gap reporting, and year-end payroll processes.
  • You will analyze compensation data, identify trends, and make recommendations to continuously improve reward programmes.
  • Ad hoc reward projects will form part of the role.

 

Requirements

  • You will have strong payroll experience, ideally supported by a CIPP qualification or equivalent, and proven experience managing payroll either in-house or through an outsourced provider.
  • A solid understanding of UK and European payroll legislation and best practice is essential, along with strong IT skills and experience using payroll and HR systems. Experience across a broad range of employee benefits programmes is also required.
  • You will bring excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment are critical.
  • You should be highly motivated, able to work independently, and demonstrate a high level of integrity when handling confidential information.
