Responsible for end-to-end payroll processing with accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with labor laws and company policies. Ensure strong governance through reconciliation, statutory reporting, and audit support. Maintain data integrity across HRIS and payroll systems, resolve employee payroll issues, and coordinate with HR, Finance, and external vendors. Drive continuous improvement, analyze payroll trends, and support payroll-related projects to enhance operational efficiency and reliability.Job Description
Key Responsibilities
1. Payroll Processing & Accuracy
Execute end-to-end payroll processing for all employee groups, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with internal policies and local labor laws. Conduct payroll reconciliation, variance checks, and error resolution before final submission.
2. Compliance & Governance
Ensure payroll practices comply with statutory requirements (e.g., tax laws, Social Security, provident fund). Prepare and submit monthly/annual statutory reports and support internal/external audits. Maintain robust documentation, SOPs, and internal controls for payroll processes.
3. Employee Support & Service Excellence
Partner with HRBP and Employee Services to resolve employee data issues that impact payroll. Support onboarding/offboarding payroll activities, including final pay calculations.
4. System & Data Management
Maintain and update payroll systems with changes in employee data, compensation adjustments, and organizational changes. Collaborate with HRIS/IT teams to troubleshoot system issues and optimize payroll functionality. Ensure data integrity and accuracy across HRIS, Time Attendance, and Payroll modules.
5. Strategic & Continuous Improvement
Identify improvement opportunities to streamline payroll operations and enhance accuracy (e.g., automation, workflow optimization, policy adjustments).
Analyze payroll trends and provide insights to HR, Finance, and management for decision-making. Participate in or lead small-scale payroll-related improvement initiatives (e.g., system enhancements, process redesign, self-service rollout).
Contribute to payroll risk assessment and mitigation, ensuring operational resilience.
6. Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
Partner with Finance for payroll journal posting, GL reconciliation, and year-end closing. Coordinate with external vendors (e.g., payroll system providers, benefit vendors) to ensure seamless processes. Support HR projects involving compensation, benefits, or workforce changes that impact payroll.
Qualification
- Bachelor / Master's degree in accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- minimum 5 years of experience in payroll operations or HR administration.
Experience with payroll systems (e.g., SAP, Workday, Oracle or other local payroll systems
- Knowledge of payroll calculation, time attendance systems, and payroll reconciliation.
- Ability to handle confidential data with high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Basic understanding of HRIS systems and data management.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Good communication skills for coordinating with HR, Finance, and employees.
- Customer-service mindset and problem-solving skills.
