SunWorks Landscape Partners is a leading private equity-backed commercial landscape service company. At SunWorks, we are building a national platform by acquiring market-leading local businesses with great cultures, attracting the best technical and managerial talent, and creating unmatched growth opportunities for our people. In the past three years SunWorks has acquired nine commercial landscaping companies in Arizona, Colorado, Florida, and Texas. Our companies provide commercial landscape construction and maintenance services to corporate campuses, universities, office parks, retail centers, light industrial properties, and residential developments. With an aggressive growth strategy we aim to build one of the largest privately held commercial landscaping businesses in the country. SunWorks is backed by Alpine Investors, a private equity firm specializing in middle market companies in the services and software industries with over $18bn in assets under management.

POSITION OVERVIEW

In this role you will lead an established commercial landscape construction business with over $20m in annual revenue. You will own the P&L and be responsible for the financial performance and growth of the company. You will leverage SunWorks’ value creation playbook and other resources that enable our businesses to reach their full potential.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead all business functions and operations as the Company President.
  • Grow revenue and operating profit while maintaining healthy margins and minimizing variability in business performance.
  • Ensure the timely submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and operating reviews. 
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement and personally lead high-impact projects to improve safety, quality, and efficiency in key operational processes.  
  • Establish deep industry relationships and earn the trust of key clients (developers and GCs), stakeholders, subcontractors, suppliers, and industry partners.
  • Oversee high-profile landscape construction projects, ensuring they meet deadlines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all building codes, safety regulations, and environmental laws.
  • Hire and develop the highest caliber of employees at all levels of the organization.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • At least five years of prior senior leadership experience in commercial landscape construction, with full P&L responsibility of $20m+ annual revenue.  
  • Successful track record of delivering strong financial results.
  • Strong relationships with leading regional developers and general contractors specializing in a variety of project types (industrial, retail, office, education, multi-family, residential, etc.).
  • Extensive leadership experience in both pre-construction and production, with prior experience leading teams bidding $50m+ per year and installing managing multi-million dollar projects with irrigation, hardscapes, and softscapes components.  
  • Strong analytical skills with an ability to turn financial and operational data into actionable insights.
  • Persistent in the face of temporary setbacks, relentlessly driven, and ambitious for yourself and your team.

COMPENSATION AND TIMING

A competitive compensation package will be offered, including a base salary, annual performance bonus, long-term equity incentives, and a competitive employee benefits package. Onsite work in Dallas, TX will be required, with occasional travel.
