Job Description:
The HPE Company Car Program Manager will be responsible for overseeing the management and maintenance of the company's fleet in the Americas. This role involves ensuring the efficient operation, safety, and cost-effectiveness of the fleet, as well as compliance with all relevant regulations and policies. It is also responsible for developing HPE's company car program strategy and shaping it for the long-term.
Responsibilities:
Fleet Strategic Planning and Execution – Contribute to the long-term strategic fleet plan ensuring HPE’s company car program remains an innovative and cost-effective asset that contributes to employee productivity and supports the company’s sustainability goals. This includes transforming the Americas fleet inventory fully to electric vehicles (EVs) by 2035.
Fleet Management: Oversee the acquisition, maintenance, and disposal of company vehicles. Ensure the fleet is well-maintained, safe, and cost-effective. Manage all aspects of the vehicle lifecycle, including acquisition, fuel and EV charging, maintenance requests, accident management, compliance, vehicle inventory, and end-of-life disposal to ensure operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Vendor Management: Coordinate with vehicle suppliers, lease management vendors, maintenance providers, and other third parties to ensure timely and cost-effective services.
Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with internal stakeholders such as HR, Total Rewards, Business Unit leaders, and drivers to align on best practices, vehicle allowance programs, and general program requirements, ensuring the fleet strategy supports broader business objectives and needs.
Budget Expense Management: Develop and Manage the fleet budget expenses, including forecasting costs and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Compliance: Partner with vendors to ensure all vehicles comply with regulations, including safety and environmental standards.
Reporting: Maintain accurate records of vehicle usage, maintenance, and expenses. Prepare regular reports for management.
Driver Management: Oversee the assignment and training of drivers. Ensure drivers adhere to company policies and safety standards.
Policy Development: Develop and implement fleet management policies and procedures to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Sustainability: Promote and implement sustainable practices within the fleet, including the use of fuel-efficient and low-emission vehicles. Support and supply annual reporting requirements.
Savings Targets: Meet or exceed annual fleet savings targets to support Global Procurement (GP) initiatives, through strategic sourcing, efficiency improvements, and cost management.
Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, Logistics, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in fleet management or other complex program management and/or operations role.
Knowledge and Skills:
Excellent program management, operations management, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.
Advanced analytical and business decision-making skills.
Advanced business application skills (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint).
Advanced communication skills, including presentation and negotiation abilities.
Advanced team leadership and influencing skills.
Applies cause and effect thinking to identify complex or emerging risk areas.
Subject matter expertise on safety regulations, fleet management software, and known and emerging fleet management strategies, principles and the fleet industry is preferred.
