PropertyManagement.com · Hybrid (Carmel, IN)
Location
Hybrid — in office 3 days/week at CoHatch, Carmel, IN (Arts & Design District; same office as Matt). Local / commute-feasible candidates only.
About the role
We’re hiring a Community Manager to own member and community engagement end-to-end: make members successful, keep the community active, and drive activation so more people get value fast and stick around. You’ll be the connective tissue between members, the product experience, and the Carmel team — on the floor when it matters, and deliberate about programs and follow-through the rest of the time.
What success looks like (first 90 days)
Clear rhythm for member outreach, onboarding, and check-ins so fewer people stall after signup
Measurable lift in engagement and activation (we’ll set baselines with you in week one)
• A small set of recurring community programs (events, rituals, channels) that members actually show up for
• Tight loop with the team on what members need, what’s broken, and what’s working
What you’ll own
• Community development: design and run the programs, channels, and rituals that make the community feel alive
• Engagement: proactive outreach, events, content, and day-to-day presence that turns quiet members into active ones
• Member / customer success: help members get to value, unblock issues, and escalate product/support gaps
• User activation: own the path from first touch to activated member (onboarding flows, nudges, follow-ups)
• Feedback loop: surface patterns from members to product and leadership
Must-haves
• Community development experience (you’ve built or grown a real community, not just posted in one)
• Engagement experience (events, programs, outreach, or similar — with results you can point to)
Customer success or customer service background (comfortable owning member outcomes and hard conversations)
User activation experience (you’ve moved people from signup/interest to meaningful first value)
• Comfortable hybrid: energetic and present in-office 3 days/week in Carmel; self-directed the other days
Nice-to-haves
• Property management, PM software, or real estate background
• Experience in membership, coworking, marketplace, or B2B SaaS communities
Light comfort with tools like HubSpot, Slack, and analytics (Mixpanel or similar)
Compensation
• Base: $75,000$90,000
• Target bonus: 15% of base, paid quarterly, tied 50/50 to member activation and retention (details in offer)
• Equity: up to 1%
• Public one-liner: $75–90k base + target bonus tied to member activation and retention, plus equity up to 1%
