The Community Manager is responsible for the overall operation of an affordable housing community. This role serves as the primary point of contact for residents while managing leasing, rent collection, certifications and recertifications, resident files, compliance requirements, and property administration. The Community Manager also oversees maintenance operations, coordinates vendors and contractors, ensures apartments and grounds are well maintained, and works to keep the property occupied, compliant, and financially successful.
This is a fast-paced, hands-on position that requires strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize competing demands, and confidence making decisions. No two days are the same, and success comes from staying organized, communicating effectively, and providing excellent service while ensuring the property remains compliant, well maintained, and financially sound.
