About the Role

The Community Inclusion Specialist provides direct support to adults with developmental disabilities by facilitating meaningful community-based activities that promote inclusion, independence, and skill development. This role will transport the individual around the community.


Responsibilities

Escort and support participants in community outings; implement Individual Support Plans; facilitate activities; complete documentation; manage outing budgets; provide transportation and basic first aid.


Requirements

High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred; minimum of three years of experience working with adults with developmental disabilities; valid driver’s license; basic computer skills; ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Must have own vehicle to use as well as motor vehicle insurance and valid vehicle registration.

Strong communication skills; cultural humility; ethical and professional judgment; collaboration and problem-solving skills; flexible schedule availability.

RHD Boston (Resources for Human Development) provides specialized community inclusion, residential, and day support services for individuals with developmental, mental, or physical disabilities. Their person-centered approach features the "Outside the Lines" art studio, community volunteering, life skills training, and a weekly radio show to promote independence and social connection.
