Community Events Coordinator
This is a volunteer position and any amount of time is appreciated.
Overview:
The Community Events Coordinator is a key volunteer responsible for ensuring the Spokane County Democrats has a consistent and engaging presence at local community events, festivals, celebrations, and parades.
Key Responsibilities:
Event Planning & Scheduling:
Research and maintain a calendar of relevant community events throughout the year.
Monitor event deadlines and ensure timely registration and permitting as required.
Maintain regular contact with community event organizers for up-to-date event details and logistics.
Registration & Permits:
Complete and submit event applications and secure necessary permits or documentation.
Ensure compliance with all event policies, health and safety regulations, and insurance requirements.
Volunteer Coordination – recruiting volunteers to support the following:
Recruit, schedule, and confirm volunteers for booth shifts at each event.
Provide orientation and training to volunteers.
Serve as a point of contact for volunteers before and during the event.
Booth Logistics & Materials – recruit volunteers to support the following:
Coordinate the preparation and transportation of booth material.
Ensure all materials are clean, organized, and replenished as needed.
Set up and break down the booth or delegate.
Event Day Oversight:
Serve as or designate the lead point person on the day of each event to ensure smooth operations.
Post-Event Follow-Up:
Collect feedback and document lessons learned for future events.
Submit event reports or summaries to the organization as required.

Experience in event planning, volunteer coordination, or community outreach preferred.
Familiarity with the local community and event landscape is a plus.
Time Commitment:
Varies depending on event schedule; approximately 5–10 hours/week with peak times around events.

The Spokane County Democratic Central Committee (SCDCC), known as the Spokane County Democrats, is a local political organization in Washington state. It focuses on electing Democratic candidates to public office and promoting a platform based on human rights, social justice, and economic equity.
