What We’re Looking For


Trillium Health Resources has a career opening for a Community Engagement Specialist (NE) to join our team! The Community Engagement Specialist supports outreach and engagement activities across an assigned region to increase awareness of services and community needs. The role coordinates meetings, education, and engagement efforts that strengthen partnerships and improve access to care.


On a typical day, you might:


  • Coordinate meetings and activities for advisory groups, councils, and community stakeholders.
  • Engage with community members and organizations to support outreach and awareness activities.
  • Educate internal teams and community partners on services and community needs.
  • Represent the organization at community meetings, events, and engagement activities.
  • Distribute outreach materials and information to community and faith-based organizations.

Qualifications


Required:

  • High school Diploma/GED and six (6) years' experience working in the health field with communities and programs; OR
  • Associate's degree in Public Policy, Sociology, Education, Ethnic Studies, Social Justice, Social Work, Public Health, Publication Administration, Psychology, or Human Services and four (4) years' experience working in the health field with communities and programs; OR
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Sociology, Education, Ethnic Studies, Social Justice, Social Work, Public Health, Publication Administration, Psychology, or Human Services and two (2) years' experience working in the health field with communities and programs; OR
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must reside in North Carolina and within Trillium’s Catchment area, which includes the following counties: Anson, Bertie, Beaufort, Bladen, Brunswick, Camden, Chowan, Carteret, Columbus, Craven, Currituck, Dare, Duplin, Edgecombe, Gates, Greene, Guilford, Halifax, Hertford, Hoke, Hyde, Jones, Lee, Lenoir, Martin, Montgomery, Moore, Nash, New Hanover, Northampton, Onslow, Pamlico, Pasquotank, Pender, Perquimans, Pitt, Randolph, Richmond, Robeson, Sampson, Scotland, Tyrrell, Warren, Washington, Wayne, and Wilson. 
  • Must be able to travel within catchment as required.
