THE ROLE
As a Community Engagement Manager, you will be responsible in leading initiatives that foster public engagement with our public art programs. You will have a proven track record in developing and implementing successful engagement strategies, building relationships with diverse communities, and driving participation in cultural initiatives.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Strategy Development:
- Develop and implement comprehensive community engagement strategies that encourage public participation and interaction with public art programs, ensuring alignment with the broader organizational goals.
- Community Building:
- Build and nurture strong relationships with artists, community groups, cultural institutions, and other stakeholders. Act as the primary liaison between these groups and the organization to foster a collaborative environment.
- Public Engagement:
- Lead outreach programs and initiatives aimed at increasing awareness and involvement in public art projects. Engage with diverse communities to ensure inclusive representation and participation in all initiatives.
- Event Management:
- Plan, coordinate, and execute events, workshops, and community outreach activities that enhance the visibility and impact of public art programs. Ensure these events are delivered on time and within budget.
- Communication:
- Develop and deliver clear and compelling messaging through various channels, including social media, newsletters, public speaking engagements, and press releases, to promote public art projects and foster community connections.
Knowledge and Skills
- Minimum of 7+ years in community engagement, outreach, or a related field. Experience within the arts and culture sector is highly desirable.
- Fluency in both Arabic and English is mandatory for this role, as it involves communication with diverse communities and stakeholders.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with a wide range of audiences, from artists to government officials, to local communities.
- Experience in organizing and managing events, with the ability to handle budgets, timelines, and logistics efficiently.
- A demonstrable passion for arts and culture, with an understanding of the role public art plays in community development and cultural expression.
