Position Overview:
Salary: $21
Working Hours: 8AM-4PM
This position is responsible for the development and execution of administrative, programmatic, and community tasks as it pertains to outreach and community engagement (OCE). This role will facilitate public awareness and community engagement utilizing various platforms and avenues.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Required
- A Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years’ experience in a related field or an Associates and four years’ experience
- Excellent oral and written communications and interpersonal skills; effective time management and organizational skills; attention to details, good at proofreading
- Experience and an aptitude for using internet and social media to enhance development and market activities
- Working knowledge in: Windows, Publisher, PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Internet Explorer, Facebook, Constant Contact and/or other newsletter/publisher software
- Current Florida driver’s license required

Roles and Responsibilites
Outreach and Community Awareness Using Print, Broadcast and Social Media Platforms - 80%
- Works within established networks or identifies networking opportunities to enhance resources and expand the community’s awareness of the center
- Serves as a contact for community engagement, stewardship and cultivation
- Outreach and community engagement activities include, but are not limited to: marketing and public relations, events, internet/social media communications
- Helps create marketing campaigns by utilizing and expanding various social media resources
- Maintains the center’s media list (magazines, newspapers, electronic magazines etc.) and assists in the submission of media releases
- Assists in the preparation of newsletters, e-blasts, press releases and calendars for internal staff and external publication
- Composes and mails communications to external constituencies on behalf of the local center
- Manages databases for both general and targeted mailings
- Assists Development Director and Committee Chairs in managing local event logistics, execution, and post event follow-up
- Develops event materials such as invitations, evites, programs, posters, and ads as well as oversees printing and distribution of materials
- Works with center leadership in preparing and hosting center tours and visits by special guests or organizations, which includes preparing meeting materials and taking meeting minutes
- Grant writing
Volunteer Coordination - 30%
- Coordinates the recruitment, background screening, orientation and assignment of program volunteers
- Trains volunteers and supervises their work in the center
- Creates and maintains volunteer records and training documentation
- Plans an annual Volunteer Appreciation activity for all volunteers and invites volunteers to special program events
- Assists the Executive Director in identifying and supporting volunteers serving on special event committees
Other Duties - 10%
- Leads development and management of special events and fundraising
- Manages data in Raiser’s Edge

Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree and two years' related experience OR Associate's degree and four years' related experience

What We Do
Pace Center for Girls provides year-round safe and supportive academic and counseling programs to help girls understand their past and prepare for their future. Pace’s team of counselors and educators provide middle and high school academic services, counseling, life-skills training, career preparation and more, developing individualized approaches based on each girl’s unique strengths, life experiences and needs at no cost. Pace is a supportive community for girls to build healthy relationships, plan for their future and overcome trauma. Girls face challenges in public schools, the juvenile justice system and in accessing mental health care. For girls who require additional support or have experienced trauma, finding the best path forward in these systems can be overwhelming.
